Nick Diaz is set to return to the UFC Octagon for the first time since 2015 as the Stockton native takes on fellow welterweight legend Robbie Lawler in a rematch. Nick, along with his superstar brother Nate Diaz are two of the biggest superstars in the entire UFC roster. Despite his inactivity, the Stockton native remains a popular figure among UFC faithful.

The elder Diaz brother hasn’t fought since his UFC 183 appearance against Anderson Silva. However, hardcore fans know what the Stockton slugger is capable of inside the Octagon. He is a former Strikeforce welterweight champion and has been part of some of the most memorable fights in the sport of MMA.

Nick trains out of the Nick Diaz Academy in Stockton, California. His brother Nate Diaz, kickboxer Joe Schilling, fellow MMA star Jake Shields, and more are some of his most notable training partners. However, the brothers, Nick and Nate certainly have a special relationship between them.

What kind of relationship do Nick Diaz and Nate Diaz share?

Nick and Nate are iconically known as the Diaz brothers. They are hands down the most famous pairing in the history of combat sports. Nate has always said that he became a fighter because of Nick as he has followed his older brother as an example throughout his career. Also, Diaz never forgets to mention that his older sibling is the best fighter in the world.

The appreciation on Nate‘s part comes from a place of appreciation and respect. These kinds of behaviors have only increased the fans’ affinity toward the iconic Diaz brothers.

Nick, on the other hand, is a true mentor for his brother Nate. He is always there when his younger brother is going to fight. Also, he has mentioned several times that Nate Diaz, his younger sibling is the most important thing for him.

Fans are stoked to see how the general of the Nick Diaz Army fares when he eventually makes his much-anticipated Octagon return later this month against Robbie Lawler. Diaz holds a stoppage win over the former UFC welterweight champion when they fought almost 17 years ago.

However, they both were really young at that point in time and have evolved massively as fighters. It will be interesting to see how the contest eventually plays out. But, it’s always good to have a sneak peek at the relationship between the Diaz brother whenever one of them has a fight coming up.
