Aldana trains under the roof of Lobo Gym MMA, the same gym that trains Alexa Grasso. And the head coach? It’s none other than the UFC women’s flyweight champion’s paternal uncle, Francisco Grasso, who is popularly known as ‘Pancho’ in the fighting community. Apart from getting guidance from ‘Pancho’, Aldana has the support of coach Juan Najera and Tito Castro, as well.

Talking to MMA Fighting back in 2017, Aldana revealed the story of how she stumbled upon the Lobo Gym and kickstarted her career in mixed martial arts. She revealed that she had always had a soft spot for sports in her heart. However, in her quest to pursue graphic design, she spent a couple of years without any exercise during college. But it was when she decided to work out that she found out about Grasso’s gym and fell in love with MMA.

Aldana said, “I had a friend that trained at Lobo [Gym] and he would always talk to me about it. It was actually very funny because I would always drive by the gym, look at it and then leave, then I’d drive by it again, look at it, and leave. I did that for a whole week; it really had my attention, but I never had the courage to get out of the car. And one day, I said to myself, ‘something is calling me,’ so I decided to get out of the car, go in, and take a trial class. And that day I decided to stay.”
