35-year-old Conor McGregor was all set to return to the Octagon in the upcoming UFC 303 event. Unfortunately, the Dubliner had to pull out of the fight because of an injury. The former dual champion is suffering from a broken toe and is undergoing rehab at the moment. However, he still finds ways to stay in the news despite staying away from the action.

This time, ‘Mystic Mac’ mocked his longtime rival, Khabib Nurmagomedov, in his X account.  The pair has had one of the most fearsome rivalries the UFC has ever seen. ‘The Eagle’ is retired from the sport, but it seems McGregor still isn’t over him yet. With his recent comment, he took a dig at his family member.

One of the most iconic fights in the UFC was the clash between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor. The pair exchanged blows at UFC 229 and finally settled their longtime beef once and for all. ‘The Eagle’ won the fight via submission in the third round, but the battle didn’t just end there. Nurmagomedov jumped outside the Octagon and attacked McGregor’s corner. All hell broke loose, and the UFC had to intervene to stop the massacre. Years have flown by and both fighters have moved on from their rivalry. But have they actually? A recent comment by McGregor (now a deleted post) hints at something else. 

The post has now been deleted by McGregor, but it has already gathered a lot of attention. One of the users mocked the former lightweight champion with a post that had pointers. While mocking the Dagestani fighter, he mentioned a point ‘Khabib Married his cousin in 2014’. ‘The Notorious’ seemed to have enjoyed the post and took a special liking for this comment. The 35-year-old shared a smiling emoji showing his appreciation towards the post. Nurmagomedov is fairly inactive on social media and getting a response from him might just be a tough task.

Although the former champion isn’t quite active on social media, his teammate Islam Makhachev is. The current champion is famous for his beef with many fighters, including Conor McGregor. After the Dubliner pulled out from the fight at UFC 303, Makhachev took a special liking for him and shared his opinion on his injury.

When Conor McGregor canceled his press conference in Dublin on June 3, rumors floated around with him being injured. However, it is now clear that the former dual champion has broken his toe, which has hindered his comeback. During his appearance at the Bellator event in Ireland, the 35-year-old shared how he was struggling because of the injury. He even shared the kind of treatment he was undergoing to help him recover from the injury. After getting to know about the injury, the current lightweight champion Islam Makhachev isn’t quite impressed with the whole.

The Dagestani camp has never had a special liking for the Dubliner and Makhachev’s comment is a testament to that. Makhachev took to his X account to share his honest opinion about the injury and tweeted, “You don’t need a pinkie toe for a fight lol. Chicken,”. Makhachev then took a dig at Michael Chandler after the 38-year-old waited this long to get into a fight. He compared him to Hachiko, the loyal dog who waited for his owner every day at a Japanese train station. The lightweight kingpin tweeted, “And my condolences to Michael ‘Hachiko’ Chandler,” McGregor is yet to respond to the comments made by the Dagestani fighter. However, it seems he is more focused on ‘The Eagle’ rather than his teammate.
