In major news for fighters, the UFC has recently made significant changes to their contractual agreements, which could have a deep impact on how the promotion moves forward. As per reports made by Bloody Elbow and various other media outlets, some of the crucial changes that were made were the addition of an arbitrary agreement along with a class action waiver. As news of the update broke out, MMA fans were quick to criticize the promotion, with some specifically attacking UFC president Dana White.
These changes come at a time when the UFC has been mired in controversy with the entire Francis Ngannou saga, which saw the African heavyweight walk away from the promotion after a series of failed negotiations. Although Ngannou was able to exit the UFC, the report by Bloody Elbow mentioned that fighters might find it difficult to do the same in the future.
As fans caught hold of the news on Twitter, many of them swiftly reacted to it. Not surprisingly, a majority of the responses were of fans voicing their concerns and criticizing the promotion for undoing the positive changes made in the last few years.

MMA fans react to news of changes in UFC contract
Bloody Elbow’s official page on Twitter was one of the first to break the news on the micro-blogging site. A majority of the tweets on it were of concerned MMA fans who didn’t hesitate in bashing the promotion.

Not surprisingly, one of the first tweets made a reference to Francis Ngannou and the news around his exit from the UFC.
and everyone had the gall to laugh at Francis for turning down the contract 👀

Naturally, UFC president Dana White was the first to get thrashed by fans. Someone also accused him of enjoying the contract changes.
Dana’s ability to take the toughest SOBs out there and completely dominate them in these contract negotiations has make him feel good.

Moreover, one MMA fan even forecasted the future of the UFC. Blaming the promotion’s current ranking system, he even pointed out Conor McGregor as an example of how the UFC only relies on the popularity of the fighters to make fights.
Yea, they are loosing fighters too other organizations that pay them better. Honestly the allure of the UFC is diminishing. The ranking system is not as important as the celebrity. Keep squeezing and its going to pop. My opinion. Conor doesn't belong in Top 5… but here we are.. pic.twitter.com/9vCnM5bdQM

One fan had a rather uncomfortable idea of what the UFC could do next.
Next contract requires them to wear a dong cage and only Lord wifeslapper Dana can unlock it on the weekends

Another MMA fan further reverberated one of the earlier tweets by claiming that such changes would lead to an eventual decline of the company.
The ego of Dana and the greed of Endeavor could very well supercharge the downfall of the UFC as we know it. Strong-arming fighters, exploiting fighters. Other promotions offering better opportunities. UFC’s untouchable approach could seal their fate! #SMH

Someone also suggested a potential strike by the fighters. He even went on to call the changes a “disgusting” move on part of the UFC.
The fighters need to strike. What an absolutely disgusting “slap” in the face.

This last tweet completely summarized the Bloody Elbow report and also the negative aspects of the new changes.
So anyone who signs the new contracts can't join the class action and they changed it back so they can extend your contract forever again. Right back where we started but now you will have fight them individually in arbitration.

And although UFC continues to dominate the combat sports realm; drastic measures that shrink the freedom of the athletes are clearly not something that bodes well for any parties involved.
