Conor McGregor recently took to X and slammed the UFC lightweight champ, Islam Makhachev, after he suspected him of having a Staphylococcus infection. Mystic Mac was quick to spot a blister on the Dagestani fighter’s left leg which looked like a Staph-infected boil. And without a doubt, the speculation threw the entire world of mixed martial arts into dismay, with Makhachev’s fight with Dustin Poirier right around the corner.

However, Makhachev soon responded to the speculations and clarified that he didn’t contract Staph and was perfectly fine, training in his camp. Despite that, McGregor wasn’t one to be swayed easily and quickly responded in his style (deleting tweets soon after posting).

A few hours ago, ‘AFeldmanMMA’ shared a post on X that addressed a boil on Makhachev’s leg, claiming that it looked like the champ had contracted a Staph infection. As soon as the post hit the social media platform, McGregor went ahead and replied with, “Staph again. This in***d however lives with Staph. This team is infected, make no mistake. Scruff balls. Whatever ya’s are into, I suppose. He still subs Dustin in the 1st.”

Thereafter, he sent out another tweet addressing the Dagestani camp. He wrote, “Yous absolutely f***s I’m sick of yous. Wash you f***ing self! Wash you clothes! Wash your mats! And do it f***ing everyday you scruffy c**ts.”

But right after the speculations became viral on the internet, with fans being concerned over Makhachev’s fight at UFC 302, the champ came forward with a response. He claimed that he was perfectly fine and the people didn’t need to be worried. But the Irish fighter wasn’t convinced. He sent out yet another tweet (now deleted), showing a picture of Makhachev’s leg and a puking emoji in the caption.

This indeed isn’t the first time McGregor dissed the Dagestani team. But the LW champ was apparently ready with a response. In an interview with ESPN, the fighter proposed a brawl to find out who was the Ultimate Fighter. Exciting, right? Let’s find out what the champ said.

Makhachev proposes a brawl with ‘The Mystic Mac’

In a recent interview by Brett Okamoto from ESPN, the Dagestani fighter opined that McGregor wasn’t the same as he was a decade ago. But he would indeed face the Irishman just for the sake of a big paycheck. But that’s not all that he proposed. How would you feel if McGregor’s team and Khabib Nurmagomedov’s team went against each other in a brawl? Well, that’s exactly what Makhachev suggested.

Makhachev proposed, “Team vs. team. It’s going to be more interesting. Because already Khabib beat him in the cage, beat his corner. But team vs. team, maybe we can make ‘Ultimate Fighter’”. Without a doubt, it was an idea that had the potency to keep the fans on the edge of their seats. But first, Makhachev needed to win his battle against Poirier.

Needless to say, the heat between McGregor and the Dagestani team is beyond something that a thermometer can measure. But with Makhachev claiming he was alright, the title fight at UFC 302 might not be in jeopardy. But can he convince ‘The Notorious’? Only time can tell.
