Jackson and Jones locked horns for the first time at UFC 135. The light heavyweight title was on the lines, and both the fighters were ready to go the distance. However, Jones surprised everyone when he dominated the champion and won the fight via submission in the fourth round. Since then, Jones has been a formidable name in the UFC and is the current heavyweight champion.
After the fight, Jackson claimed that Jones constantly poked him and even used illegal kicks to hurt his knees. However, in his latest episode, Jackson cleared the air while speaking to Jones’s brother. He said: ” Man, I’m going to tell you about the fight since we own it though. That fight he beat me, the best me ever. Nobody, nobody ever faced me like that. I was in the best shape. Trained up in Denver. Trained there for a couple of, um, months, like two or three months. I was running seven miles where I normally just run three miles. My first time taking supplements every day, and I trained my *ss off it. I was like overly confident I have never lost a fight being in this good shape. I was like, I’m going to destroy this kid, and he kicked the s**t out of me. But I’m going to say this about your brother: I respect him, but he’s the dirtiest fighter in MMA.”
