Dana White caught off guard—Is this the funniest UFC moment of the year?

UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones is perhaps the greatest mixed martial artist of all time. At least that is what UFC CEO Dana White believes like the Gospel. The UFC CEO, of course, has been on a press tour recently, defending ‘Bones’ and singing paeans to the UFC’s youngest-ever champ.

The Las Vegas resident gets a twinkle in his eye whenever he speaks of Jones. Another clear evidence of his undying love for the undisputed heavyweight champ came at the recent ‘Pack Fight’ UFC trading cards event. The UFC CEO engaged in a friendly trading card-off with Michael Rubin at a recent event, where the duo unboxed various UFC trading cards.

Amid the event, the UFC CEO’s demeanor changed as soon as a Jon Jones trading card with the value of an Ace, the highest-value playing card, was unboxed. White broke into a huge grin at the card, taking it in his hands to happily show it to the audience, calling the card “bada**”

Jones, of course, is currently facing allegations of ducking Tom Aspinall, the interim heavyweight champion, with the implication being ‘Bones’ is afraid of the Englishman, who is clearly a very special fighter.

A natural heavyweight, unlike Jones, Aspinall has an extremely well-rounded game with the speed and movements of a middleweight. However, Dana White is hearing none of it, rubbishing these charges every chance, he gets. This is why it didn’t come as a surprise to fans that he was so pleased with Jones’ card being unboxed at the Topps’ event.

Have an interesting take?

Given Dana White’s genuine joy at the Jon Jones playing card, one fan was certain they knew what the UFC CEO had in mind for it: “He’s gonna frame that.” Another fan was suspicious of the deep devotion that Dana White seemingly had for Jones, chalking it up to blackmail: “Jon 100% has dirt on Dana”

Another fan wholeheartedly seconded this sentiment, and felt that the Jon Jones ‘glazing’ was getting a bit too much: “It’s getting out of hand 😂” Another user felt that the glazing allegations were no longer allegations given how publicly and shamelessly the UFC CEO ‘glazed’ ‘Bones’: “They ain’t even allegations at this point😂”

However, one user opposed all of these glazing charges, and felt that the UFC CEO was merely giving the purportedly greatest fighter in the history of the world his due credit: “It’s not even glazing bro is the best MMA fighter to walk the planet.”

One fan was surprised, but not at Dana White’s reaction to the Jones card, but at the fact that the UFC actually had trading cards: “Didn’t know UFC had cards.”

Therefore, the reactions have come thick and fast. Are there more trading cards in his kitty? What are your thoughts on Dana White and Jon Jones’ ongoing love affair? Let us know in the comments below.
