After his win at UFC 295, Alex Pereira had invited Israel Adesanya to join him in the light heavyweight division, signing off with a confident “Adesanya, come to daddy.” Does Israel Adesanya have an answer for Alex Pereira? His new post raised a lot of questions.

‘Stylebender’ posted a partial image on Instagram. It was supposed to be about his next fight against Pereira in the light heavyweight division. As per the post, Alexander Volkanovski would also be a part of the event. However, there was a huge twist.

While many fans got excited, people soon understood that the fighter was just trolling his followers. What made this incredibly believable was the rivalry between Adesanya and ‘Poatan’ as well as the latter’s recent callout to Adesanya.

Both fighters faced each other in kickboxing before carrying their intense rivalry over to the UFC. Pereira defeated Adesanya to secure the middleweight title at UFC 281. And Adesanya then took his title back in an incredible performance at UFC 287. But his recent loss to Sean Strickland at UFC 293 prompted Adesanya to release a statement where he expressed his desire to take some time away from the sport. Four years, to be precise.

Alex Pereira, on the other hand, secured another title in the UFC as he became the light-heavyweight champion after defeating Jiri Prochazka at UFC 295. And he made an interesting post-fight speech to call out Israel Adesanya, challenging him to a heavier weight class. Thus, several things made Adesanya’s prank very believable.

Adesanya’s story on Instagram featured the same images with the word “Sike,” which in Gen Z terms meant it was all a joke. However, does that mean he will stop taking digs at his nemesis, Alex Pereira? Absolutely not.

Adesanya responded with a playful reference to the film ‘Frozen’ on social media, suggesting a reluctance to engage in another bout with Pereira. He posted the line “Let it go,” from the movie’s soundtrack, referencing the rivalry between the two individuals. The post also contained an image of Pereira after he had been knocked out by Adesanya at UFC 287.

As fans eagerly await the unfolding chapters of this intense rivalry, the potential rematch at UFC 298 in February, hinted by Adesanya’s Instagram post, adds fuel to the anticipation surrounding these two formidable fighters.
