Despite Ryan Reynolds, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Dwayne Johnson’s Contribution With Michael Jai White’s Support, Many A-Listed Hollywood Left Unfazed Amid SAG AFTRA Protest

The historic strike going on in the Hollywood world is in no way getting better. Now, the issues have gotten much worse after some A-list celebrities ignored the protests of thousands of union members. It was a shock to many, as some of the top Hollywood stars like Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Arnold Schwarzenegger have already made it clear that they are with the protesters.

Hollywood star and MMA icon Michael Jai White and his wife, Gillian White, also made sure that they joined the squad to help the struggling actors and writers. Both Michael Jai White and his wife strongly believed that it was important that actors and writers get adequate pay. However, it seems that all the top Hollywood actors are not ready to join hands for the success of the strike.

A-list actors chose to go forward with their productions

The Hollywood actor Reynold Reynolds, along with his wife Blake Lively, went forward to donate a whopping $1 million as the actors’ strike took momentum. Followed by them, it was ‘The Rock’ who amazed Hollywood by donating a whopping 7-figure donation to the betterment of struggling actors and writers. As reported by the Los Angeles Times, even after all this support pouring in, actors like Anne Hathaway, Dakota Fanning, Mel Gibson, Glenn Close, and Kevin Costner chose to go forward with their production.

SAG-AFTRA, the actors’ group, had agreements with independent makers, which allowed over 110 self-governed film and TV ventures to go ahead during the strike. However, this move has led to confusion, raised suspicions of bias, and started a strong discussion on whether these agreements are helping or hurting the actors’ aims.

The kind gesture of Dwayne Johnson

Dwayne Johnson has repeatedly proven that he has a big heart. A few days prior, ‘The Rock’ stunned his followers by contributing a significant seven-digit sum to SAG-AFTRA. It is true that many other actors have also contributed to the cause. However, Rock’s contribution stands apart from the rest, as it is the largest sum received from an individual. As one of the richest stars globally, Johnson ensured that he utilized a portion of his wealth to aid those in need.

Johnson’s compassionate gesture helped lift thousands of actors from poverty. The director further mentioned that Johnson took the initiative and eagerly stepped forward to support the actors in their time of need.
