During his appearance on ‘The Oil and Whisky’ podcast, Joe Rogan talked about a lot of things, including his decision to move to Austin. However, the most important part of the interview was the time when Rogan mentioned the process of constantly improving himself. He claims that it is difficult to master the things he likes. The 55-year-old said, “The things that I like, you could never master.”
Rogan used his comedy career as an example first and stated that every show has the requirement for him to come up with new material. He said, “Like stand-up comedy, you always have to write new material, you’re always writing new jokes.” Furthermore, he claimed that jokes cannot be recycled and new shows require him to start from scratch. The UFC commentator said, “Every show is a new show. There’s always new things you have to add. You put out a special, you’ve gotta start from scratch.”
Rogan’s take on improving in jiu-jitsu
Joe Rogan has an extensive background in martial arts. However, he is in his 50s and claims that anybody can take him down. “In jiu-jitsu, there’s always someone who can kick my a*s,” said the double black belt holder. The only way to improve, according to Rogan, is to keep practicing. That is the only continuous process he’s concerned with.
