Strikingly, back in May, the UFC commentator had labeled pitbulls as ‘sketchy.’ But Rogan’s recent words shed light on his love for his dog Marshall, alongside sharing his insight on petting pitbulls.

Joe Rogan sheds light on his love for golden retrievers; makes an argument for pitbulls
In episode #1994 of the Joe Rogan Experience, comedian Theo Von joined Rogan for a lively conversation that touched upon an array of topics. As the discussion unfolded, Rogan’s adoration for golden retrievers, particularly his own dog Marshall, and his experience with pitbulls came to the forefront.
At one point, Rogan confessed, “I just – was buying stupid shit, you know – I had three pitbulls.”
Von’s surprise was evident – as he exclaimed, “Dang, bro! That’s sick, dude!”
Despite no longer owning pitbulls, Rogan fondly remembered them, stating, “They were great dogs…they’re the best dogs.” He further added, “there’s something about pitbulls man – they’re just so loyal. They love you so much!”
However, he quickly clarified that he wouldn’t go as far as claiming that pitbulls were superior to golden retrievers. Labeling them as “best pet ever” Rogan argued that golden retrievers are unparalleled in their capacity for love and affection.

Reflecting on his own dog, Rogan emphasized his pet’s gentle nature and lack of any threat to anyone. He shared an endearing scenario where his dog warmly welcomes visitors to his house. “Like if you come over to my house tonight, he’ll be like – ‘Theooo!’ He’d be so happy, whining and running around you in circles and stuff – he just loves everybody.”
Even Rogan couldn’t deny the unique qualities of pitbulls. “But pitbulls are like – they just have so much more tenacity, they’re so angry…and they just wanna play and they just wanna kiss you…they’re so full of life,” – he expressed passionately.
Taken aback by Rogan’s insights, Von humorously added, “Yeah, they’ll f**king hug you till you’re dead…”
