Colby Covington has established himself as one of the best welterweights on the planet. The former interim champion is in search of glory to become the welterweight king. After two failed attempts against former champion Kamaru Usman, ‘Chaos’ looks for a title shot against Leon Edwards, However, his plans were curtailed as Edwards publicly snubbed Covington after his win against ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’.
However, Covington has wasted no time in trash-talking the UFC welterweight champion, despite also being in a number of controversies. ‘Chaos’ has cited reasons as to why Edwards snubbed his offer and also revealed his plan to defeat him.

The former UFC interim champion made a bold statement regarding Leon Edwards. In an interview with Michael Bisping, ‘Chaos’ revealed how he is better than the UFC welterweight champion.
Colby Covington said that he is a better fighter and has better wrestling, striking, and jiu-jitsu than ‘Rocky’. He also added that his cardio is much better than Edwards and the UFC welterweight champion, “he can’t hang you know he slows down in fights”.
Furthermore, he added, “You know those last couple rounds he definitely he comes out hard and he’ll throw 50 60 kicks 50 60 punches but then you know his volume changes as the fight goes on. So I will wear him out Michael and you know I will break him. I will break his will”.
Colby Covington claimed that Leon Edwards lost a perfect opportunity
Covington added that it is because of the reasons that he stated, Edwards might be dodging him. He continued, “You see that that’s why he’s not selling the fight. He had the perfect opportunity to spotlight in London to call me out to demand the division, the biggest straw to make it even bigger and you know he didn’t call me out Mike so there’s probably a reason for that.”

‘Chaos’ said that the fans in London were chanting his name and it would have been the perfect time to enter the cage with Edwards. However, that was not the case. Covington added further, “…maybe he didn’t want to get his feelings hurt but you know he needs to start doing his part carrying his weight as a champion and coming for the next man up… He’s gonna get broken in front of the world.”
