With everything happening in Conor McGregor‘s life, one can make the argument that he’s ‘half man and half machine’. The ‘man’ in him, the business mogul and entrepreneur who started numerous successful ventures has found himself in hot waters lately. With him liable to pay $250,000 to a woman he allegedly assaulted back in 2018 by the Dublin civil court, McGregor seemingly lost in the court of public opinion as well. On the other hand, the ‘machine’ in him – the fighter and MMA champion, has been out of commission for more than three years, leading to many in the fight world writing him off. However, ‘The Notorious’ put out an update that sent the fight world buzzing with speculation.

‘Mystic Mac’ took to Instagram and shared a post on his IG story, which showed a picture of him captured in training. The picture shows the Dubliner in the middle of throwing a kick, but it was the caption that sent cheers through the fighting community. He wrote, “Last camp.. Next camp.” Needless to say, mixed martial arts landscape desperately wants to watch McGregor comeback to the Octagon and fight anyone at this point, regardless of whether it’s Michael Chandler or Jorge Masvidal.

During an interview at the Wembley Stadium back in September, McGregor expressed his disappointment at losing the Michael Chandler bout. However, he announced, “My job is to go to the gym and be in shape, whenever it is and wherever it is. I will be 100% ready.” But the jury’s verdict on the civil case filed against him could overturn all the expectations McGregor has about his epic comeback, don’t you think?

Speaking to DAZN while Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois clashed, McGregor said, “I must get two fights in 2025. It’s the promised land. Who knows (who the next opponent will be). It does not matter. Whoever [it is], let’s see. I’d like it to be Chandler. I wish him well and see where it goes.”

No doubt, ‘Mystic Mac’ had Michael Chandler on his radar for his next fight. Even the former Bellator FC lightweight champion waited on the sidelines for close to a year and a half, expecting his ‘red p-nty night’ to come through. Since they filmed a whole season as opposing coaches on TUF 31, it only makes sense for ‘The Notorious’ to face ‘Iron Mike’ in his return. “I’ve been tested more than twice than these other [UFC] athletes, yet I struggle to get a date,” the Irish fighter had claimed.

With all his business commitments, and the weight of the civil case on his head, it’s hard to speculate if and when ‘The Notorious’ makes his comeback. Whenever he does, though, you can be sure that the entire MMA world will be running in. Are you excited about McGregor’s return to the MMA cage? Do you think he’ll make a successful return in late 2025, as per Dana White’s statements? Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
