Does a UFC fight even count without the roar of a live crowd? What do you think?

“That was at the Apex. It’s the best place to see fights,” these are the words of Joe Rogan when he had a conversation with Sean O’Malley on ‘JRE MMA Show #147’. The multi-million dollar podcaster has been a fan of UFC Apex due to its small size. However, it’s not a desirable place for fans as well as fighters alike, and UFC flyweight title prospect, Kai Kara-France just explained the reality of the staple venue.

UFC Apex started hosting events back when Covid-19 was at its peak. The Las Vegas venue became the go-to arena for the promotion due to its compactness. However, things started to go down when fans started to get bored by the lackluster persona of the events. Regardless, let’s have a look at what Kara France has said about the Apex venue.

For those who are not aware of the UFC Apex fiasco, the venue has been controversial ever since it opened its gates back in 2019. The prime reason for it was the small size of the arena as well as the small size of the cage. The entire MMA community including the fighters criticized Dana White and co for the lackluster event, however, Joe Rogan stood by the side of his friend to defend the venue.

Poll of the day

Do you agree with the UFC star's demand for fights to have a crowd?

Absolutely

No way

Depends on the fight

Not sure

Meanwhile, Kai Kara-France in his recent conversation at the UFC 305 media day has heavily criticized the UFC Apex, “Volkanovski and Islam, the atmosphere was insane! It was one of the best cards I have ever been part of, sitting in the front row.”

He further added, “So I’m expecting the same for this card for UFC 305. I’m excited and I don’t wanna fight these Apex cards anymore. UFC fights need crowds, and I know the Aussie fans are going to deliver.” ‘Don’t Blink’ has fought in a single Apex fight and this was enough for him to call the foolery on that venue. The good news is that Dana White is done with the Apex as well.

At the TKO Inc. earnings call, White explained that the promotion would finally be parting ways with the Apex events once and for all, “We gotta get out of the Apex and start doing more events in all these different cities, and we’re starting to do it. We’re getting it done this year.” Apex is finally getting dropped but what were the actual reasons for the downfall? Let us have a look at Brendan Schaub’s observation.

Brendan Schaub’s opinion on Joe Rogan’s words about UFC Apex

While having a conversation about the fight world on his podcast, Brendan Schaub took time to have an open-minded opinion about the UFC Apex. The former UFC fighter stated that despite Joe Rogan’s liking for the Apex, it has been on a downward trend since its inception.“Joe Rogan; from Joe’s perspective that’s fine. From Joe’s perspective, it’s like, ‘Oh you know you can hear everything you know it’s more intense.”

He further added, “That sucks it’s so; it’s such a selfish thing I’m not saying Joe, at all you know I adore Joe, yeah. But take Joe out of it. when people go, ‘I like the fact that I can hear the actual punches, I can hear the corner,’ that’s so selfish ’cause for the rest for everybody else including the fighters, the performers, it fu** sucks.”
