UFC commentator Joe Rogan has always been open about his love for Texas. Now, he has revealed that his wife shares the same sentiment about the state. The 55-year-old recently opened up about his family’s love for the Loner Star State during a recent episode of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience.’
Joe Rogan rose to fame thanks to a number of careers such as UFC commentator, Fear Factor host, and stand-up comic. His work as a podcast on JRE earned him a multi-million dollar contract with the streaming giant, Spotify. Rogan proved a valuable addition to their brand and has been their top podcaster for two years in a row.
Rogan had been living in California for almost two decades before shifting to Texas with his wife Jessica Ditzel and three kids in 2020. Recently, he opened up about that to his guest, Howie Mandel, on the latest episode of JRE.

Joe Rogan on moving to Texas
In episode #1971 of JRE, Rogan hosted fellow stand-up comic Howie Mandel. While talking to his guest, the UFC commentator talked about life in Texas. The BJJ black belt emphasized how well-suited Texas was for stand-up comics. Being a stand-up comic himself, this was a welcome attraction for Rogan.
Speaking of the shift to Texas, he said, “I came out first, but Ron White was already here. Ron White moved here before the pandemic. He f***ing loves it. He said, ‘I f***ing love it. Best f***ing city in the world.’ I was like ‘God damn! Ron White is smart. Maybe he’s right.'”
He continued, “And when the pandemic hit, we came to look out here and my kids loved it. I was like ‘I’m in’ and my wife reluctantly [agreed] at first but loves it now. I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. It’s f***ing amazing.”
While Texas was favorable for stand-up comedy-related reasons for Rogan, there was another significant reason why he left The Golden State behind for the Longhorn State.

The real reason why Rogan moved to Texas
2020 was a rather tumultuous year for Joe Rogan. His work on JRE during the pandemic era earned him a lot of notoriety. With all the backlash, he even had to enforce armed security at his house.
Therefore, he left behind a $2.3 million property and shifted to Texas to a $14.4 million mansion, along with his family. Thankfully, Rogan has been thriving in Texas and even opened his own comedy club a few months ago.
