The UFC 292 pay-per-view surely didn’t go well for Aljamain Sterling. Within a fraction of a second, Sean O’Malley’s right hand took his title away from him. Although ‘Aljo’ looked dominant before entering the Octagon, he could not carry his dominance, as O’Malley’s series of brutal strikes made Sterling his prey.

The best part about Sterling was his positive attitude, which he displayed after the fight through his social media account. But this was not enough, as Sterling had something else to say as well while he sat in a post-fight press conference. Well, he had a somewhat emotional statement concerning Dana White and co., as he expressed that through his statements.

Recently, Sterling’s emotional quotes considering the UFC, were highlighted on Reddit. In the video, he seemed to shed light on how the UFC actually changed his life. Surprisingly, the ‘Funk Master’ broke into tears while he explained his thoughts in the conference.

He said, “I get choked up when I talk about this. Like I don’t come from the best household, you know! So Just being able to find inspiration in other people. That is the one thing I love about the sports. It has allowed me to do things my way. Man! Life is good. I have got my family, I got my beautiful fiance. I don’t want to cry on fu*kin camera man.” Visibly being emotional, he further quoted,Competition is okay, but this has really helped change my life. Like, I know the UFC gets a lot of shit from the fighters and stuff but, I wouldn’t have had the life that I live today.”

Sterling’s thoughts were seemingly enough to show his generosity. He gave credit to the UFC for the life he is currently living. In fact, in his opinion, he learned a lot from other stars as well. It was astonishing to know that even such a devastating defeat could not shake the former bantamweight champion. His praises for the UFC, however, were surprising since he had a conflicting history with the UFC head honcho.

Both Dana White and Aljamain Sterling conflicted with one another in the past. Initially, boss Dana White claimed that Sterling seemed unwilling to fight since his bout against O’Malley got fixed. White also disclosed that Henry Cejudo, Sterling’s previous opponent, had called him to let him know about Sterling’s current distaste towards the bout.

Considering the claims of the UFC president, Sterling had quite a long response. He said, “Dana’s super nice behind closed doors, but then he tells me I can’t get out of my own way. I’m like, what does that even mean? Just clarify what that means. And if we’re going to say things because of me saying like yeah, I’m fighting but I’m also banged up”

Being utterly annoyed, he had something else to say. “There’s never been a fight that was scheduled where people signed the contract. And remember, contracts are just for formality – it’s just to say hey you’re going to show up. No one’s gonna sign the contract but actually just not show up in the UFC – that just doesn’t happen. So let’s stop pretending that’s a thing.” Indeed, the conflict between both of them has ignited ever since O’Malley was chosen to face Sterling. However, the credits given by him recently also signal that he must have forgotten the harsh past. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
