It’s no secret that Mike Perry thrives on chaos. But his latest comments, aimed at both BKFC Knucklemania 5 headliners Eddie Alvarez and Jeremy Stephens, take the drama to a whole new level. From being publicly ‘fired’ by Conor McGregor to launching his own promotion, Dirty Boxing, Perry’s career trajectory has been anything but predictable. Now, he’s stirring the pot once again, and fans can’t look away.“Mike (Perry) is fired, but we’re in negotiations,” McGregor said in a previous interview with The Schmo, referencing Perry’s uncertain status with BKFC after his loss to Jake Paul.
Considering McGregor’s ongoing relationship with the Paul brothers, this reaction was hardly surprising, was it? Perry, however, didn’t take the comment lying down and has been making noise ever since. Recently responding to an Instagram post hyping Alvarez vs. Stephens, he mocked both fighters, saying, “😂😂 good times” and, “Who the f— guy called me a dumb f— lol, and how dare double d call 🐓 when he quit. Wonder who wins this 1.”
This came out as a result of the trash talk between Stephens and Alvarez, which somehow pivoted to questioning Perry’s toughness. “You’ve seen how silly Perry was when I fought him… he’s was going the chicken dance…imagine the f–king dancing you are going to do.” It seems like BKFC is missing Mike Perry and is making sure he is passively present.

Perry’s jabs are part of a larger narrative. During an episode of the Overdogs Podcast, he vented about his lack of activity in BKFC. He was speculating that his Dirty Boxing promotion might be a factor. “I guess Conor really did fire me… I’m pissed, and I want this sh-t,” he said, calling out BKFC for not booking his next bout.
The tension between Perry and BKFC isn’t new. In the 2024 BKFC Knucklemania 4 event, ‘Platinum’ secured a highlight-reel knockout against Thiago Alves at a cost. He had to leave the fight with injuries that led to a medical suspension. Now, the former UFC and Bellator champion, Alvarez is poised to headline BKFC Knucklemania 5. Meanwhile, the #1 middleweight contender, remains on the sidelines because of no wrongdoings at his end, fueling with frustration.
But his beef is not with Alvarez alone. For Perry, all of this is personal – a reminder of his self-styled ‘King of Violence’ title and his belief that neither Alvarez nor Stephens can match his intensity. Amidst everything that happened last year, how did Perry end up embroiled in ‘The Notorious’ drama? Did the former ‘face of UFC’ somehow sense a threat?

Is Dirty Boxing the reason why McGregor is ‘playing dirty’ by Mike Perry?
Launching Dirty Boxing was a bold move, and ‘Platinum’ knows it. The promotion’s debut event, held behind closed doors, featured brutal matches featuring former UFC fighters like Yoel Romero and even drew attendance from Jon Jones. Oh and the unique rules, the focus on fists and elbows, bringing in raw aggression, is a rulebook right out of Perry’s strengths. Seems like he started a fresh platform to showcase his very own violent style.
Yet, the shadow of Conor McGregor looms large. Is the competition between promotions the reason McGregor placed a restraining order in Perry in BKFC? Though Perry got the blessings of founder David Feldman, that doesn’t seem quite enough now, does it?
