Dillon Danis and Conor McGregor are good friends. And, unlikely as it may seem, they have more in common than different. Especially when it comes to their views on fight promotion, which, according to Danis, has been inspired by pro wrestling.

And while ‘Mac’s trash-talk is legendary at this point and needs no introduction, Danis is showing his talent as fight promoter in the run up to his fight against Logan Paul later this month in Manchester. However, it seems, the friends, contrary to McGregor’s earlier claims, are not on the same page for the Bellator fighter’s upcoming fight. However, the 30-year-old star seems to have found an unlikely ally in Alex Pereira, as Danis made a massive confession. Let’s see what he has to say.

As Oct. 14 draws closer, all eyes are on Dillon Danis. The fans are very much eager to see how the UFC star performs in the boxing ring. Considering the promise Paul has shown in WWE, we can expect him to come prepared for his boxing bout as well. Moreover. Logan Paul has already established his expertise in the boxing ring as he went 8 rounds with the legendary Floyd Mayweather. While Danis is a renowned UFC star, he would definitely need a coach to combat the threat of Paul.

Unfortunately, Danis revealed something entirely opposite. The Bellator fighter and McGregor’s training partner stated that he does not have a trainer for his boxing debut against Logan Paul, according to journalist Michael Benson.

While Danis may not be training with McGregor, he has been spotted training with one of UFC’s best strikers and former Middleweight Champion Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereiraa few days ago. The Bellator fighter even managed to take down the Brazilian during their training session. This feat impressed everyone, as not everyday you can win against someone who KOed Israel Adesanya. But, Danis having no trainer for his first pro boxing match will be worrying for his fans. And this confession by Danis contradicts a statement made by McGregor.

Conor McGregor said he will train with Danis back in August

Speaking to Matchroom Boxing’s Youtube channel in August, McGregor said that he was working with Danis and helping him train for the Paul fight. The Irishman was confident that Danis would emerge victorious over the WWE star.

“Dillon will win for sure. They’re already back-tracking right now, they awoke an animal. I know Dillon years, I’ve trained him many times, I’ve helped him and I’m guiding him, I’m going to train him for this and I’m going to guarantee a win,” the former two-division UFC champion said.

McGregor added that he was going to start camp (for the now postponed bout against Michael Chandler, which was originally slated for December) and would be inviting Danis to train with him and monitor his progress.

“For sure I’m getting into camp myself after this so when that’s organised I’m going to bring Dillon in and make sure and just monitor it. I was training with him while I was in New York,” McGregor added.

It seems McGregor did not come through on his promise to bring Danis to his training camp. But, given the uncertainty around McGregor’s return, it seems ‘Notorious’ has not begun his training camp in New York. This, according to some, is why the two friends are not training together.
