With gate sales going upwards of $17 million at UFC 229, and $15 million at UFC 264, the UFC is the most profitable combat sports promotion in the world, period. Which is why $5 million in ticket sales for one of its PPV cards is a below-average night.
Not just MMA, but the UFC is in fact the biggest organization in the entire combat sports world. This is why the Dana White-led organization making $5 million for UFC 310 at the gate is not a big deal, especially in comparison to some of the other events held in 2024. According to MMA reporter, Aaron Bronsteter, this was the UFC’s eighteenth-highest gate collection for a T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas card out of the thirty cards held there.
The gate collection for UFC 310 was right down the middle for the promotion, which is not surprising. After all, the original main event was shelved and the co-main event Alexandre Pantoja vs. Kai Asakura flyweight title clash was promoted to headliner status.

And that undoubtedly had an adverse effect on the commercial success of UFC 310, but exactly how much is difficult to say. After all, a Belal Muhammad vs, Shavkat Rakhmonov main event for the welterweight title might have been a bigger fight than Pantoja vs, Asakura. But still, a $5 million gate collection is on par for this year’s UFC PPV events. But still, 2024 has been a pretty good year for the UFC’s ticket sales overall.
Marquee events help make 2024 a great year for UFC ticket sales
Four of the ten highest gate-grossing events in UFC history have come in 2024 alone! UFC 306 at the iconic ‘Sphere’ in Las Vegas this September tops the chart, collecting over $21 million at the gate. Of course, the UFC 300 anniversary mega-card was a roaring success, both on PPV and in ticket sales. It grossed over $16 million at the gate and took place at the same T-Mobile Arena as UFC 310.

Not to mention most of the fighters who headlined the top ten gate-grossing cards are still fighting in the UFC. Conor McGregor features thrice on the list, as does Alex Pereira. Sean O’Malley, for all the hate he gets from fans, has two appearances on the list. And what’s common among all these fighters? Well, they all will probably be fighting next year.
Except perhaps for Conor McGregor, whose promised comeback fans doubt more with each passing day. Alex Pereira, of course, has already become the face of the promotion, but even he is 37 years old and nearing the end of his career. O’Malley, however, has a lot of PPVs ahead of him, even if losing the title to Merab Dvalishvili at the historic UFC 306 card has dented some of his popularity.
