In an unexpected turn of events, Henry Cejudo has withdrawn from his highly anticipated fight against Marlon “Chito” Vera, scheduled for August 19th at UFC 292. Cejudo took to social media to announce that he has suffered a shoulder injury. As such, this casts doubt on his ability to fully recover in time for the bout.

The news of Cejudo’s withdrawal sparked a reaction from fellow UFC Bantamweight Champion, Aljamain Sterling. Sterling, had recently defended his title against Cejudo. Aljo didn’t have kind words while expressing his thoughts about the announcement.

Aljamain Sterling commented on the post, “@funkmastermma I wonder how and when that happened… I guess speedy recovery to the ‘savage’ Dana was talking about… #PettyFunk.”

The Funk Master clearly made no efforts to disguise his mocking tone.

This exchange continues the verbal rivalry after a previous fight between Sterling and Cejudo at UFC 288, which saw Sterling emerge victorious by split decision. The fight had been  Cejudo’s return from a three-year retirement.

And with controversy around the corner, Dana White’s name is never too far-off.

Aljamain Sterling says Dana White gifted him a Lamborghini, ‘Sugar’ says no he didn’t

Adding fuel to the fire, UFC President Dana White found himself embroiled in a controversy surrounding Aljamain Sterling. Reports indicated that White had gifted the bantamweight champion a Lamborghini worth a staggering £652,000. The extravagant gift seemed to aim at mending the strained relationship between the two parties, which disagreements over fight scheduling and opponents had marred.

‘Sugar’ Sean O’Malley, another UFC fighter, swiftly debunked these claims. O’Malley highlighted that the Lamborghini Sterling posed with on his Instagram was, in fact, a rental. He referred to an Instagram post by Royalty Exotic Cars in Las Vegas, Nevada, which shared the same image of Sterling with the caption, “‘champs rent with champs.‘”

O’Malley further emphasized, “He rented the Lambo. I wanted to make a funny video saying, ‘Yeah, Dana bought me a house!’ Dana doesn’t f—ng buy new shit.”
