There seems to be a repeating pattern in the UFC’s Light Heavyweight division. Before the champion can make their first defense, an injury forces them to relinquish their belt. First, Jiri Prochazka got his shoulder popped out, and now Jamahal Hill is out with a ruptured Achilles tendon.
But a similar fate isn’t enough to stop the two former champions from feuding. This was on display when Hill went all out on his fellow Light Heavyweight in one of his recent videos. But what has the ‘Czech Samurai’ done to invite ‘Sweet Dream’s wrath?

In the latest video on the YouTube channel, Jamahal Hill responded to some of the comments of Jiri Prochazka. Prochazka recently attributed Hill’s extra weight as a reason behind his injury during a recent interview with Ariel Helwani. This was a response to the reporter’s question, asking the Czech fighter his opinion on the matter. For those who don’t know, the Prochazka has been inactive since enduring a shoulder injury last year. The same which Dana White and Joe Rogan described as the ‘worst’ they have seen.
Responding to this, Hill said, “First off, how much do I weigh? I have no idea how much I weigh. You have no idea how much I’m used to walking around at, none of these things, right? But we’ll come on and say these things.” Further refuting Prochazka, Hill claimed that his tendon was already bad, and the injury was inevitable. Hill continued, “So, like I said, I had my Achilles repaired by one of the best doctors in the world, okay? And he told me there was nothing that I could do. My tendon was already bad.”
Before coming off on Prochazka, Jamahal Hill also took jibes at Ariel Helwani for ‘disrespecting’ him. Addressing the journalist as ‘H*e Whiny’, ‘Sweet Dreams’ accused ‘The Nose’ of having an agenda against him. At this point, Helwani being a target of UFC fighters is nothing new. But this time it’s coming from an athlete like Jamahal Hill, who is known for his cool demeanor.

With Hill out, what’s next for UFC’s Light Heavyweight division?
Before Jamahal Hill had to vacate his belt, the fighter was expected to face Prochazka or the winner of Jan Blachowicz and Alex Pereira at UFC 291. But now, with his exit, the future of the 205 crown is once again in question. Who gets to fight for the title next? As of now, the question still remains unanswered.
According to many, Alex Pereira is next in line for a shot at the 205 gold. Recently, the Brazilian’s rival Jan Blachowicz claimed their UFC 291 bout as a title eliminator despite Hill’s injury. This statement came during the UFC 291’s media day press conference.
