Conor McGregor will be making his return to the Octagon soon. He will be taking on Michael Chandler in his comeback fight, as announced by UFC President Dana White. He has been on a 2-fight losing streak currently and would seek to win the fight against ‘Iron Mike’. Moreover, Lightweight fighter Beneil Dariush believes that Conor McGregor has been in his comfort zone for too long.

Conor McGregor hasn’t fought in the UFC for almost two years now. His last appearance saw him losing to Dustin Poirier and getting injured in the process. People even think that he’s attempting to get exempted from the USADA’s testing pool, which has Beneil Dariush believing that the Irishman may be cheating with the use of steroids.

Beneil Dariush believes Conor McGregor wants to get better

‘Benny’ recently appeared in an interview on YouTube and commented about him calling out ‘Notorious’ for cheating. But Dariush believes there is another problem with McGregor. He said, “As far as Conor goes, I really do think he’s cheating. But… he doesn’t know what to do. I think he’s so lost right now.”

Dariush also believes that McGregor is not in the same position as a fighter he was a few years ago and that he might be wanting to still get better at the age of 34. “Every fighter wants to be rich and have power like he does. But he is the opposite now. He’s willing to give up all his wealth and whatever to be a good fighter again,” said ‘Benny’.

‘Benny’ claims ‘Notorious’ never got out of his comfort zone

The 4th-ranked Lightweight fighter states that the only way Conor McGregor can get better is to get out of his comfort zone. But he affirmed that it is not that simple. ‘Benny’ said, “But it’s tricky, you know. Once you get comfortable, it is hard to put yourself in uncomfortable situations. I think he’s been comfortable for too long and now he’s hoping these shortcuts will get the job done. But it’s not that simple.”

Dariush believes that McGregor should get used to putting himself in a position of discomfort instead of using shortcuts. “Only in the fire can you really mold something and build a weapon that can be used. And I just don’t think he puts himself in the fire enough,” said ‘Benny’.
