Many believe that Joe Rogan’s podcast with Donald Trump was one of the key reasons behind Trump’s victory in the presidential election. With nearly 100 million views worldwide, the episode featuring the the 47th POTUS appealed to the young male voter demographic of 18 to 34-year-olds. Of course, the involvement of the controversial President was bound to run into some trouble. What happened, you ask? Well, according to Rogan, YouTube suppressed his episode with Donald Trump, making it harder for people to access the podcast.

The community observed that the podcast was delisted from Joe Rogan’s playlist and this started a debate about whether or not YouTube tried to shadow ban episode. And, who came to his rescue? None other than Elon Musk, who uploaded the entire episode on his X handle which then started a ripple effect.

While having a conversation with Warren Smith at ‘JRE #2261’, Joe Rogan revealed that it was Musk who saved the day, “That was just like an issue with how the upload system works. It’s more effective to upload on a timer, apparently, but that had nothing to do with YouTube. That was just a thing about, and then, when it was being suppressed, and I knew it was being suppressed, I talked to Spotify and talked to Elon and said, ‘Let’s just put it on X’. So we put it on X as well.”

He further added, “Then Elon put it on X, and it wound up getting, across all platforms, somewhere in the neighborhood of like 250 million views. Insanity. But a lot of it was X. A lot of people on independent pages just took it when it was a problem finding it, and they just uploaded it to their own channel on X. A lot of people did that.”

Elon Musk not only uploaded the entire podcast on X but also accused Google as well as YouTube of censoring the entire podcast just because Donald Trump was in it, “There is massive far-left censorship at Google/YouTube,” Musk was replying to a user claiming “If you search “Joe Rogan Trump” on YouTube the interview no longer comes up. It’s replicable, try it yourself.”

The multi-million-dollar podcaster supported Donald Trump in his presidential endeavor; however, this does not mean that Joe Rogan is a Republican. Previously, the podcaster supported the Democratic Party while living in California, but his views changed after relocating to Austin, Texas. Regardless, after the swearing-in ceremony, Joe Rogan emphasized that he stands as an American and not on any side of the political spectrum.

“I don’t consider myself a Republican. I don’t consider myself a Democrat, either,” Rogan said on his popular podcast. He further added, “I consider myself an American. I’m a human being and there’s a lot of things that the Democrats believe that I believe too. There’s a lot of things that they say that I say, that makes a lot of sense to me. And there’s a lot of things that the Republicans say where… that makes a lot of sense to me too. And the idea that I have to ignore things that make sense to me because it’s coming from the wrong team is just stupid.”

Well, Republican or not, Joe Rogan will have to follow Trump’s government till the next election cycle. Regardless, what’s your take on the hubbub? State your thoughts in the comments below.
