Costa had quite a long conversation with MMA Junkie on their YouTube channel. The prime focus of the entire discussion was to shed light on his feud with Khamzat Chimaev. As the discussion progressed, Paulo was questioned about the mysterious situation surrounding the middleweight championship bout.

Considering the doubt, he expressed his elongated notions. He quoted, “Yeah, to be honest, I am not following the situation so close. I am pretty sure UFC is going to find a way and the best solution for all this is what sometimes happens. I don’t know how but I am just focussing on my fight. If they call me, of course I want to get the fight, but now, I am a 100% focused on my fight against gourmet chen chen.”

He admitted openly that he wasn’t paying close attention to the middleweight situation, but that if the UFC head honcho Dana White wanted him to face Adesanya, he would definitely show up. He appeared to lack intrigue regarding the championship match because he was entirely focused on facing Chimaev.
