But what made the Brazilian change his mind? Well, according to ex-UFC Heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier, it has nothing to do with Dana White’s negotiating skills. In a recent clip, Cormier addressed his fans and shared an interesting behind-the-scenes story. It was about how the UFC 294 title fight came together. Contrary to popular belief, Dana White, the “face of the UFC,” didn’t orchestrate the bout. ‘DC’ disclosed something unexpected, 

“Pull the curtain back a little bit. Hunter Campbell is the guy that negotiates – he puts these fights together whenever you are getting ready to sign your fight agreement and everything.” 

Cormier introduced the man responsible for arranging the epic clash – Hunter Campbell. While Dana White may be the UFC’s public face, Campbell wields his magic behind closed doors to put together remarkable fight agreements. Adding to his views, ‘DC’ remarked,

“I know a lot of times – because Dana is the face of the UFC, [it] kind of all falls back on him. [But] Hunter is the one that does a lot of this and when he does it – he is a wizard.”

What’s more – he has earned the reputation of being an elite negotiator, capable of making the unthinkable happen.
