Sean Strickland shocked the world at UFC 293. He is the new UFC middleweight champion after a dominant performance in the main event. ‘Tarzan’ appeared during the post-fight conference to talk about the fight and continued his verbal onslaught. He even took a jibe at the former champion, Israel Adesanya, regarding the controversial video with his late pet dog.
Sean Strickland’s win over Israel Adesanya was one of the biggest upsets in the history of the UFC title fights. He outstruck ‘The Last Stylebender’ and beat him at his own game. However, in the post-fight press conference, he reverted back to Adesanya’s controversial dog incident and even mentioned a story involving him with a stray dog.

‘Tarzan’ revealed that Israel Adesanya was talking to him about his late pet dog after the fight. It prompted him to reveal one incident where he had to defend himself against a stray dog while on a hike. Strickland said, “I was hiking once, had a bunch of dogs off the leash with all my f***ing rascals running around.”

Sean Strickland mentioned that while he was hiking with his dogs, a few stray ones came running towards them with the intent of hurting his pets. He added, “And there was like these f**ing stray dogs like vicious f**ing pit bulls. They came running at my dog.” Moreover, to protect his pets, he had to shoot one of the start dogs down. He also clarified that he acted in self-defense. “I had a gun. F*** boom! Plugged one. So, to clarify, it was self-defense.” Furthermore, Stricklad even took yet another jibe at the former champion.

Sean Strickland is not one to shy away from speaking his mind. He seemingly has no filters regarding that. The 32-year-old stated that Adesanya doesn’t need to take much offense at what he had to say about his late dog. It is because he thinks it’s an animal, after all. The new middleweight champion said, “At the end of the day, it’s a f**ing dog, Izzy. Come on! Calm the f** down, dude.”

However, Strickland then quickly apologized to ‘Izzy’, thinking that he might take offense once again. He further stated, “No, Izzy. I am sorry. I am sure your dog was a great fella.” He then spoke about how the media incites him to talk about all these things by constantly asking questions that revolve around this issue. “This is how it starts, you guys,” said Sean Strickland.

It seems like Sean Strickland will never stop talking about the controversy surrounding Israel Adesanya with his late dog anytime soon. Moreover, UFC president Dana White has also confirmed that a rematch is in order, but we are yet to know when it will take place.
