Khamzat Chimaev has had a career unlike any other UFC fighter! The Chechen-born fighter is undefeated to this day, but other problems have constantly hindered his success. Moreover, Chimaev hasn’t been active in the UFC as of late.
At UFC 279, ‘Borz’ was set to fight Nate Diaz in the main event. However, he missed weight, and the bout had to be canceled. Instead, he fought Kevin Holland in a catchweight bout. After defeating his opponent, Chimaev was inactive for over a year, only returning at UFC 294. There, he returned to face Kamaru Usman in the middleweight division. With just one fight in over 14 months, it seems like Borz is putting forward unjust demands about a title shot!

Recently, Chimaev made an unexpected callout to a newly crowned UFC champion. Interestingly, it wasn’t the middleweight champion Sean Strickland he called out. Instead, Borz challenged light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira to a fight.
Just a few weeks after making his middleweight debut, the undefeated MMA fighter is interested in moving up a weight class once more. This callout received a polarizing response from fans and MMA pundits alike. Recently, former champion Michael Bisping reacted to it.
“He failed to make weight, he’s come up to middleweight. He has had a couple of big wins there and a big win over Kamaru Usman,” he said. “Everybody should move up a weight class. But we’re not talking about that. He gets through Usman and now he wants to fight Pereira, I mean just pick a weight class bro,” he added. It seems like Bisping, just like many fans, isn’t impressed by Chimaev’s antics.

Moments after callout Pereira out, it seems like Chimaev had another light heavyweight bout offered up to him. Recently, former light heavyweight champ Jiri Prochazka showcased an interest in welcoming Khamzat Chimaev to the light heavyweight division. In response to this, Borz had a short but intriguing message.

“You’ve already lost, you need a belt,” he said. What makes this back-and-forth between the two fighters more interesting is their controversial history. While they continue to take shots at each other, it is unclear whether UFC will finalize a light heavyweight bout for Borz anytime soon. What are your thoughts on this?
