Conor McGregor‘s civil lawsuit has stunned the MMA community and has left the Dubliner’s life with a plethora of problems. After the details of the case came to light, the Irishman got dropped from several business deals, with his formerly owned Proper 12 whiskey brand taking the brunt of the hit. Then again, there are questions about his fighting career as people believe that it could be over. It seems even Joe Rogan shares the same sentiment.

It’s been over three years now and Conor McGregor just doesn’t seem to find his way back inside the Octagon, which is what the fans want. After missing out on his UFC 303 comeback against Michael Chandler, hopes were up as Dana White claimed that a 2025 return is going to happen for sure. However, Joe Rogan believes that this lawsuit may make McGregor bid adieu to the sport that made him a global combat sports icon.

“I don’t know if Conor’s ever going to fight again,” Joe Rogan told guest Derek from ‘More Plates More Dates’ during the #2239 episode of the JRE podcast. The longtime UFC commentator seems to have followed the details of Conor McGregor’s lawsuit that has come to light. However, he still doesn’t know what the real story behind this whole incident is. However, one thing that Rogan has learned from the lawsuit is that McGregor has been living his life to the fullest, but he didn’t seem enthusiastic while talking about it.

“I don’t know the real details of that case. I know his version of and her version of it and what played out in the court,” Joe Rogan added. “But the reality is that guy’s partying, and he’s partying real hard and he talked about it [partying] in the court case.”

Meanwhile, things have only gotten worse for the former ‘champ-champ’. It seems like the court has ordered Conor McGregor to pay more than just the $260,000 in damages for the whole civil lawsuit.

Conor McGregor has been ordered to pay Nikita Hand’s legal fees

While filing a lawsuit, legal charges will apply and it appears that the plaintiff, Nikita Hand, had spent more than a million dollars to bring her case to the court. It is estimated that she had spent over $1.5 million on it, and after her lawsuit win, the court has now decided to order Conor McGregor to pay most of that sum incurred by Hand. These legal costs also include ‘The Notorious’ having to pay for the discovery expenses.

Have an interesting take?

The decision of the court to make McGregor pay Nikita Hand’s legal cost is by no means an unexpected occurrence. It’s because, in Ireland, the law states that the losing party would always have to pay the legal costs for the winning side. Fortunately for ‘Mac’, he wasn’t asked to pay more, which was a possibility as well. Now, he’s claimed to have decided to appeal the verdict, but what it will lead to then is something we’ll have to wait and see.
