Every morning Conor McGregor would wake up at 5 a.m. and wait for a motorman whose name he didn’t even know. The motorman would take the 19-year-old to the site, where he would work for 12 hours as a plumber. “But I had no love for plumbing,” recalled McGregor years later, fully aware that he found his calling in MMA. 2007 onwards, he fought as an amateur but in 2008 he made his boxing debut. Then Cage Warriors and, eventually, the UFC changed his life. Today, he has earned enough so that his four kids do not have to undergo the same hardships.

But you know how children follow in their parent’s footsteps? That could very well be the case with ‘The Notorious’ and his children. It seems like his legacy will be carried on by his son, Conor Jr., who is forging a grip on the fighting side of things.

With a household of four children, there’s no doubt that Conor McGregor would have at least one child who’d follow in his footsteps; And his latest update confirmed just that!

‘The Notorious’ shared a story on Instagram of him spending some quality time with Conor Jr. Dee Devlin too was present and watched as the proud father and son engaged in shadowboxing and dodging drills. The UFC star started slow, but picked up the pace, and guess what? His eldest showed impressive defense, ducking and dodging punches at great speed, and leaving his mother, Dee Devlin’s jaw wide open as she expressed her amazement.

Well, he is one kid that school seniors won’t mess with. But did you know that McGregor used to get bullied at school? A couple of older children would sometimes tease him and there were instances where the issue escalated to physical fights. While ‘Mystic Mac’ would find ways to avoid confrontation, he would carry a heavy dumbbell in his bag and always keep it handy in case he needed a weapon to protect himself.

“I had a dumbbell, I took the weights off it and I stuck it in my bag and I always used to walk home with the bag a little bit open, ready to go. I was just walking to school with no school books, then walking home with nothing. Just walking with that little bar,” he had revealed years ago.

Regardless, Conor Jr. isn’t the only one who seems to be fighting in the future because he is going to be joined by one of his siblings, according to his father. Here’s what the former double champion had to say.

“My son Mack McGregor, to the right with the gloves on. He fights to keep them on! The future is STRONG! The future is McGregor,” Conor McGregor tweeted in February. As a father, the 36-year-old has been pretty hands-on with his children and has shared numerous clips of training them, and this dedication could pay off massively when they grow up to compete professionally.

However, it’s never easy to carry on a legacy as big as Conor McGregor. So there will be a lot of pressure on his children to do well or even better than their father did. Nevertheless, it is still too early to say whether they would want to be a part of the combat world.
