Khabib Nurmagomedov is often known as the gentle giant in the world of MMA. ‘The Eagle’ is known for his respectful and humble demeanor, something that makes fans imagine him as every fighter’s best friend. At least everyone except Conor McGregor and also Tony Ferguson. However, it seems like Daniel Cormier too wished to be on the same list as the aforementioned two, as he accused the 29-0-0 of lying on camera.
It is a well-known fact by now that DC and Nurmagomedov share a friendship that stems from their being training partners (the two trained together at the American Kickboxing Academy). So what happened when The Eagle decided not to call Cormier at his BBQ party? Well, this was something that irked DC as he confronted Nurmagomedov about it when they recently met at an MMA gym. DC asked, “Hey, you had a BBQ the other day; you didn’t call me?”
However, the twist in the tale came when the Dagestani replied back with “I call you, I call you” and kept on insisting that he did call DC, while Cormier further accused ‘The Eagle’ by emphasizing, “No you didn’t; you had a BBQ the other day; you didn’t call me.” But it seems like the undefeated fighter remains undefeated in the argument as well since he pulled out his phone to expose Cormier right on camera.

Showing his call records, Nurmagomedov revealed that he indeed did call Cormier, but it was he who did not respond. “I call him; I call this guy. You know what he did? You don’t answer my phone, and he sent me “Hey.” What is this “hey”? I called you. Call me back.” This surely stunned Cormier, who was further taught how to pick up a phone call by the former LW champ as he called DC on camera and taught him how to pick up a phone call. But despite the debate, it seems like everything is still fine between the two MMA fighters. As Nurmagomedov shared the video on his Instagram Story with a lighthearted caption, “This guy never change…”.

The MMA community still got their fair share of amusement from this exchange. One of which was coach Javier Mendez, who too shared the video on his Instagram and emphasized how hilarious the two MMA superstars were together. “Hey you’re in the wrong place @dc_mma don’t do this to me Jav hey @khabib_nurmagomedov you have a barbecue and you don’t invite me. I invited you let me look at your cell. Phone remembers everything. Simple conversations with these guys are always simply entertainment.” But it wasn’t just Mendez who found the duo entertaining.

As soon as the video hit the internet, fans were quick to share their reactions to this comedic exchange. With many fans calling out Cormier for trying to lie on camera only to be humiliated by Nurmagomedov. They definitely did not believe the fact that someone like Nurmagomedov would snub his friends. As some fans wrote, “He got DC lying in 4K,” and “Caught lying!”
While a few did agree with Cormier. As per these fans, it was possible that Khabib might’ve skipped Cormier from the invitations after all. Why? Because Nurmagomedov surely looks huge now compared to his earlier shape. A possible result of him not sharing the barbeque with any other MMA fighter. As some fans wrote, “Based on how Khabib looks I don’t think anyone else was invited to that bbq” and “Khabib looks huge !!”
However, it is no easy task to feed someone as huge as Cormier either. As one fan noted, “Nobody can afford to feed DC these days.”

But a majority would surely agree with the sentiments of coach Mendez that the duo surely are entertaining together. So much so that many fans are even requesting the two to be a part of a TV show together. As some fans wrote, “They need their own Rob and Big type show,” and “This is better than any comedy show Khabib and DC are hilarious, especially when Islam joins them. Coach please more videos of their conversation.” Well, what do you think? Should they actually get a TV show together? Let us know in the comments.
