While the world of mixed martial arts gets ready to witness the fights at UFC 306, one of Daniel Zellhuber’s interviews from the UFC Fight Night 237 has traced its way back to the surface. The Mexican was fresh off of his victory over Francisco Prado and revealed his certainty at getting the chance to fight at the Sphere. But it wasn’t Esteban Ribovics that he targeted.

During the post-fight press conference for UFC Fight Night 237, Zellhuber expressed his frustration at having to witness Paddy Pimblett defeat Tony Ferguson at UFC 296. Needless to say, the fight was a great disappointment for the Mexican fans. With his eyes set to avenge ‘El Cucuy’, Zellhuber didn’t waste a single moment to call out Pimblett.

Zellhuber said, “I asked for Paddy ‘The Baddy’ for Sept. 17. I’m tired of watching him beat old Mexicans, so it’s time for him to step in and fight the new generation of Mexicans, and I’m here. I’m young. I just need time to heal some injuries I had before this fight. and I feel I’m going to be ready Sept. 17. Paddy needs to drop 500 pounds, so he’s going to be ready for Sept. 17. If he’s down, I’m down.”

Zellhuber knew that he would get to fight at Noche UFC since February. At the press conference for UFC Fight Night 237, the 25-year-old fighter pointed out how upset he was with ‘The Baddy’ defeating Mexican fighters in their late 30s. The lightweight prospect was indeed talking about Ferguson and Kazula Vargas

Well, you must have noticed that the date for Noche UFC has changed is all set to entertain the fight fans on the 14th of September 2024. And the fight between Zellhuber and Pimblett would indeed have been one that could have garnered even more attention to the stage. But the question that struck the fight fans’ minds in 2023, was how did Zellhuber plan to defeat Pimblett.

“Oh, (I’ll) f*cking knock him out in the first one. With the way that he fights, I just feel it’s a perfect matchup for me,” the  ‘Golden Boy’ claimed. He continued, “I’m not disrespecting him. I don’t want to be misunderstood – I respect him a lot as a fighter. What he’s doing in the sport is great. But I want my part in this game. I know that having a win over a name like him, it’s going to be great for my career, so I’m just ready for the heat. I want all that sh*t.”
