During the talk with Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo, he recalled the hard times he had in his neighborhood as a teenager. Usman was saying how DC was a big inspiration for him growing up and Usman revealed that he related to DC since he had similar circumstances growing up in Texas. Usman was determined to get out of his neighborhood since he was inspired by the Hall of Famer.
However, the former Olympian revealed that even he had hardships during his teenage years. Since life was hard and money was less, he too hilariously explained that got into selling fake dr*gs. He was already a wrestling champion, so he was scared to walk this path and still tried to sell fake dr*gs. He said on the Pound 4 Pound with Kamaru & Henry, “When you ain’t got no money and everyone is selling do*e you want to sell do*e to make some money. I tried that sh** one time, it was not good. I swear to God, it was the worst. I was the worst drug* dealer of all time. Bro, I was 16 years old. We made fake dru*s.”
He further described how the buyer realized it was a fake dr*gs and chased him. DC revealed, “Last time I ever tried that I was so scared though. I was so scared that this dude was gonna hurt me because I was a kid. I was a state champion wrestler. I was like ‘what am I doing here?’ But I fell into the trap so imagine other people they fall into the trap.”
Since then he was determined to do something for his people and the kids out there. Cormier even raised his kids with the same values of empathy and kindness. The former champion said at UFC, “They are always okay. And that means as much to me as anything because they don’t see money or no money, or rich or poor. Everybody’s just a person to them and I love that our kids can live like that.”

DC even joined the UNICEF initiative of Super Dads to celebrate fatherhood and highlight the significance of love, play, and protection for a child to grow up properly. He joined fellow stars like Novak Djoković, Lewis Hamilton, Hugh Jackman, and Mahershala Ali for this initiative. He even teaches kids to wrestle at the American Kickboxing Academy. The former champ has gone through a lot of hardships as a child, from losing his father to a Thanksgiving Day sho*ting at age 7, to losing his infant daughter. So DC always tries to inspire people in any positive way that is possible. DC even supported Jon Jones when the latter was accused of attacking dr*g testers but he also warned the GOAT nonetheless.

Daniel Cormier warns Jon Jones
Jon Jones was away from the octagon for a long time because he underwent a pectoral tendon injury. He was supposed to fight Stipe Miocic, but that fell through. However, he is coming back at UFC 309 against Miocic. However, he also claimed that this fight might be his last, and that did not sit well with Cormier.
DC said on his YouTube channel, “This is it for me. It sucks because I do believe there is some work left to be done with Aspinall. I don’t think anyone else right now warrants him sticking around. No, I don’t, because we saw what he did to Ciryl Gane.” Ben Askren added, “But yeah, the problem is that Tom Aspinall has proved he’s the guy.”
