“When I look at his resume for him to get the title fight, he fought nothing but lightweights,” said Belal Muhammad when asked about his opinion on Leon Edwards‘s records. Edward͏s and ͏Muhammad are͏ set t͏o headline UFC͏ M͏an͏che͏ster in͏ ͏a f͏uriou͏s cl͏a͏sh for the tit͏͏le. Ho͏wever, it appea͏͏rs that Muhammad has p͏lans ͏to r͏epl͏ica͏te what Kha͏bib Nur͏mago͏medov did in his clash͏ ag͏ainst͏ Conor M͏cG͏regor at UFC 229.

In order to clinch the ‘170’ lbs title, Muhammad has been training with Team Khabib. The fighter has had a great relationship with Khabib Nurmagomedov for a long time now. ‘Remember The Name’ wants to carry on his friend’s legacy, however, his recent comments against Leon Edwards might have crossed the limits.

While in conversation with ‘MMAJunkie’, Belal Muhammad asserted that after winning the fight, he would jump out of the cage and directly challenge Team Edwards. “I think after the fight, I’m gonna literally walk to his corner, and do the Khabib thing. [I’m gonna] throw my mouthpiece at them,” said Muhammad.

He further added, “Laugh at them, point, and maybe hop over the fence and jump on his brother.” The classic UFC 229 clash between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor became the bedrock for all the rivalries in the promotion. Why? Well, the fight was much more than for the title as it had some personal elements included to it. After finishing McGregor by way of submission, Nurmagomedov jumped out of the cage to confront Dillon Danis and what transpired after that has been written in the black pages of the promotion. Muhammad has the same intention but according to fans, he is just delusional.

The last time someone jumped out of the cage for even the minute things, the commission charged him with repercussions. Diego Lopes jumped out of the cage after his victory against Sodiq Yosuff back in UFC 3oo to talk with Dana White and the promotion slapped him with a fine. A social media fan believes that if Muhammad jumped out of the cage, it would be hilarious, however, the reality is that Edwards would win the bout.  “This would be the most hilarious thing ever and I hope it happens. Sadly Leon 49-46.”

The UFC 229 adventure was disastrous for both McGregor as well as Nurmagomedov. ‘Notorious’ was fined a hefty $50000 and suspended from fighting for a period of six months while on the other hand, Nurmagomedov’s $500,000 was being docked and he was suspended from the promotion for a good none months. A fan highlights that if Muhammad were to do something like that then the UFC would most likely strip his title, “belt immediately gets stripped you’re not khabib bro.”

Furthermore, a fan highlighted that Muhammad is trying to act like Nurmagomedov more and more, ” bro wants to be khabib so bad  first it was “i’m gonna smash your boy guys” and now this.” Edwards’s brother, Fabian Edwards is a fighter as well, who competes in Bellator. regardless, a fan appears to be a bit sarcastic when he said this “Belal jumps the cage and takes Fabian to a decision.”

As per a fan, the UFC Supremo would fire Muhammad if he plans to do any of this, “Dana would literally fire him if he does that lmao.” And last but not least, a fan seems to have had enough of Muhammad’s shenanigans, “Bro used to be just boring but now he’s cringe too.”
