UFC 300 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated UFC cards of all time! The historic event is set to take place on April 13 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Veags, Nevada. The arena is notable for also hosting the UFC 200 card back in 2016, adding another layer of significance to the venue. As such, UFC CEO Dana White, in a recent interview with TNT Sports had stated, “What I wanted was, I wanted it to be, when the first prelim of the night starts, you have to be in front of your television. You can’t miss one fight on this card.”
The UFC boss also shared a poll for the fans recently where he urged them to vote for their “favorite” fights for the card. The numbers also provided an interesting outlook on the matchups as the fans made it clear that they’re more excited for the BMF title clash than the main event of the night. Furthermore, another fight, whose position was recently shifted by White in the card, also found itself receiving an interesting number of votes from the fans!

During the interview with TNT Sports, Dana White outlined the stacked line-up for UFC 300 as he revealed, “So, when you look at 300 right, we have 12 current and former UFC champions or interim champions, seven pound-for-pound [ranked] fighters, almost every single fight features a ranked contender…”
As such, in a recent Instagram story, White shared a poll with the caption, “Rank your favorite #UFC300 fights”. The numbers shared in the post by the UFC boss highlighted that the community is most eager to see the BMF title clash between Max Holloway and Justin Gaethje, as their fight was at the top of the list with 249 points.
The UFC light heavyweight title clash between Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill ranked second in the list with 217 votes, highlighting the fact that the community is not as keen on the main event as they are for the BMF fight.
Another interesting comparison can be seen between the Zhang Weili vs. Yan Xiaonan women’s strawweight title bout and the fight between Bo Nickal and Cody Brundage in the middleweight division. According to the numbers shared in White’s poll, Weili vs Xiaonan is ranked seventh with 122 points while Nickal vs Brundage is ranked thirteenth with just 83 points, indicating that the community is still not as thrilled with Nickal’s position on the card over other established names.
The disparity in fan interest, as reflected in the poll results, highlights the unique appeal of certain matchups over others, which, hopefully, finds a place in the UFC’s future matchmaking processes. As UFC 300 approaches, the fan-driven excitement surrounding specific fights sets the stage for what promises to be an unforgettable event in MMA history.
And the BMF title clash, reigning supreme atop the popularity polls, has also received an interesting proposition by Max Holloway!
‘Blessed’ wants a special guest to present the BMF belt at UFC 300
The much-anticipated UFC 300 clash between Max Holloway and Justin Gaethje for the BMF title is generating significant buzz. The BMF title, initially introduced at UFC 244 in 2019, carries a legacy of being presented by special individuals. Notably, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson bestowed the title upon Jorge Masvidal, the inaugural winner, and later, Masvidal passed it on to Gaethje after his victory at UFC 291.
In light of this tradition, Holloway recently proposed that UFC Hall of Famer Mark Coleman be the one to present the BMF title at UFC 300. Coleman was in the news recently after he saved his parents from a tragic house fire but was hospitalized due to the damage he had sustained while making the heroic rescue. He has since made a full-recovery and recently even stated that he will be present at UFC 300.
As such, in a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Holloway stated, “The only correct answer is Mark Coleman… The guy’s a G. That’s a real-life BMF. That would be sick if he did it. It would be an honor to get him to do it.”
