Many people consider combat sports to be the most dangerous sport in the world. However, there is one sport that arguably takes the cake over even mixed martial arts in terms of putting practitioners’ lives at risk: bull riding.

Hence it may not be surprising that Dana White, a connoisseur of dangerous sports like the Power Slap and MMA, is interested in it. In this article, we take a look at one of his favorite bulls, Twisted Metal, and the challenge Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone put to the UFC boss.

Who is Dana White’s favorite bull ‘Twisted Metal’?

Dana White owns many bucking bulls that are utilized in professional bull riding (PBR) events and is a fan of these animals. Bucking bulls are specifically bred and trained to buck off riders in the world’s most thrilling and hazardous sport.

His interest in the sport began when White attempted to ride a bull for his reality program Dana White: Lookin’ for a Fight, back in 2016. Even though he barely survived for three seconds and avoided a catastrophic injury, he became addicted to the sport. He has now purchased many more bulls, including F-Bomb, White Thunder, Sour Diesel, and most notably, Twisted Steel.

Twisted Steel is Dana White’s most recent and seemingly favorite bull, who has participated in the PBR Team Series Championship, a brand-new competition for teams of riders and bulls. Being a rank bull, Twisted Steel has a high buck-off rate and is exceedingly challenging to ride. With a bull score of 434 on average, he has successfully bucked off 29 out of 31 riders that have tried him (a bull’s performance is gauged by a bull score, which is dependent on things like power, speed, agility, and direction changes).

So proud is Dana White of his bull, that he brought him to the UFC headquarters in October 2023 for a formal weigh-in. UFC star Donald Cerrone has even challenged Dana White to let him ride the bull and if he can stay on for eight seconds, he would win. While the UFC CEO is certainly fond of bull riding, and his bull is competing at a PBR event at the iconic MSG in New York, the UFC is also putting together a massive card for UFC 300, whose fixtures White will announce soon.

While only three bouts are officially confirmed at the moment, welterweight champion Leon Edwards recently said that he would be defending his title at UFC 300 (almost certainly against #1 ranked Belal Muhammad). Given that the promotion puts on mega cards for its century anniversary cards, fans can expect some explosive fight announcements starting Tuesday next week.
