After Dana White cut Muhammad Mokaev from the UFC, the flyweight has found new prospects and possibly, a new home. The undefeated British star might just be getting an offer from the PFL since their CEO is already saying positive things about the 24-year-old. White might have called him out for not being an entertaining fighter but PFL CEO Peter Murray, who is also White’s rival, is eager to take him in.
Murray had a lot to say about the young contender and believed he might be the face of PFL’s prospective flyweight division. So let’s see what he had to say.
Why is the PFL changing their tune on Muhammad Mokaev?

‘The Punisher’ won big against Manel Kape at UFC 304 but even after that win, he could not triumph in getting a new contract from the UFC CEO. White revealed that the promotion would let him go and then the rumours began. He had apparently started to negotiate a contract with the PFL before his UFC contract ended but these rumours are not confirmed. His manager Tim Spimson rejected the claims but now things have taken a turn. The doors of PFL have seemingly opened after Mokaev already signed with another promotion.
Mokaev recently posted on X, “Thank you. @PeteMurrayPFL. I heard a lot of good things about you from Twinzz and Brendan. I hope we will meet one day.” This is in response to all the good things that PFL CEO Peter Murray said about the 24-year-old. He did not agree with the PFL president Ray Sefo and said that Mokaev could be a good addition to the flyweight division. He had exemplary things to say about his undefeated record and complimented his fighting style.
Even though Ray Sefo had seemingly insulted the 24-year-old in the PFL Nashville post-fight presser, the CEO is prepared to sign him on. Sefo had commented, ” I’ve spoken to people that are in the know, and apparently, he’s just a pain in the a** to deal with. So no, we’re not interested.” This remark resonated a lot with what Dana White said in the post-fight presser at UFC 304. He said that Mokaev’s behavior was not liked by the matchmakers. White stated, “The matchmakers aren’t big fans of his for many different reasons.” Meanwhile, the PFL CEO had other plans in his mind.

“I believe Muhammad Mokaev could be the future face of flyweights within the Professional Fighters League, should that be a weight class we open up in the Global Season or within our Bellator platform. It’s something we’re looking at, and this kid (Mokaev) is impressive,” Murray said to Sherdog. However, there is also another news that the Dagestani has already moved on to Brave Combat Federation where he first started his professional MMA stint.

Mokaev’s next move for the immediate future
After having an undefeated streak of 7-0 in their flyweight division, the UFC dropped Muhammad Mokaev like a bad habit. He had apologised to UFC and requested the boss to take him back but UFC did not budge so he went back to Brave FC. He announced on Instagram, “I’m happy to announce that I signed with @bravemmaf. I would like to thank @khaled_hamad_alkhalifa @thehawkshahid for this opportunity! @khkmma.”
He signed in with his alma mater, Bahrain-based promotion Brave Combat Federation and BRAVE CF President Mohammed Shahid expressed his utmost delight in signing the young fighter. He said, according to the Brave FC page, ‘Muhammad Mokaev for me is the new norm of MMA. Having huge experience at the amateur level, we have to acknowledge that Mokaev is special. This kid is pound-for-pound #1 in the amateur world. “

Even though he has it all settled now, he is still bound to get offers from PFL and seems to be inclined to pursue it in the future. White had fired him because of his recent antics and brawl with Manel Kape in the hotel lobby. He also tried a foul move on Kape inside the Octagon which culminated in the final decision by the UFC CEO.
However, now Mokaev has more than one option. What are your thoughts on this matter? Tell us in the comments below.
