A large chunk of UFC fans are aware of the troubled childhoods of several fighters in the promotion. The coveted Diaz brothers of MMA grew up in extreme poverty, which was the prime factor for their childhood hardships. However, the parents of several other UFC fighters like the former UFC Bantamweight champ, Aljamain Sterling, became the biggest reason for their unruly upbringing. There are a number of reports on how ‘Funk Master’s’ abusive father made his childhood a really tragic one. This might often leave kids with a sense of rejection towards their parents. The UFC world received a major shock when the UFC CEO, Dana White recently talked to the famed TV personality, Piers Morgan, and revealed that he was also unmoved by the death of his parents.
In the year 2011, Dana’s mother, June White, released an unofficial autobiography of ‘the UFC CEO’, named ‘Dana White, King of MMA’. It basically talked about White’s journey right from his infancy to becoming the UFC President and beyond. But she surprisingly accused her son of turning into a “vindictive tyrant” from a “nice person” in it. Now this might give the fans a hint about why the UFC CEO recently implied that he was unperturbed by the news of his parents’ death.

UFC fans have hardly ever heard the boss, Dana White, talking about his parents. But there’s a reason Piers Morgan is a famous name in the world of TV broadcasting. ‘The Englishman’ lured ‘the UFC head honcho’ into talking about his parents. At a point in the interview, White himself got startled after realizing that he was putting out way too much personal information in this interview.
The ’54-year-old’ exclaimed, “Holy S*it. This is where we are going with this interview.” However, he couldn’t stop himself from giving out more about his parents. In the interview, White started off his remarks about his parents on a sarcastic note. He implied how his childhood had a number of unruly instances that he would never allow his kids to face. After sarcastically revealing how his parents had taught him a lot about parenthood, he also stated, “I’ve sort of put my relationship with my parents behind me.”
A lot of fans might also get confused by White’s words. Even after crediting his parents for teaching him about parenthood, how could he have such a cold shoulder towards them now? Well, apart from the already mentioned unruly childhood experiences, White also might pack a grudge against his mother for the accusations she made in her 2011 publication, ‘Dana White, King of MMA’. But, June White didn’t back down from her accusations. She also put out the same notions about his son in an interview that followed the release of her book in 2011.
How did his mother describe Dana White in the 2011 interview?
UFC fans who have gone through June White’s book already have an idea about what her interview might sound like. Right at the beginning of her interview, June revealed the reason for writing this book. She said, “I wrote this book because I don’t like the person Dana has become”.
She further detailed a major point of complaint she had against White. June revealed White had once promised on a call that he would get the “best medical care that money can buy” for his ailing grandmother. But he never bothered about fulfilling his promise, which resulted in his grandmother passing away. She also talked about all the evils that Dana had amalgamated into his character over time.
In short, the words of her book, “Dana went from being a true friend, a good son, and a truly nice person to being a vindictive tyrant who lacks any feelings for how he treats others,” may be sufficient to realize how she described her son in the video.
How did Dana White feel about his parents’ recent demise?
Although June White labeled her book as her last effort to make ‘the UFC boss’ give up his evil side and turn him into “a better person”, Dana White probably had a completely different viewpoint about it. His recent words about the passing of his parents might influence several fans to think that he probably viewed June White’s publication as something that would damage his reputation.
This assumption also justifies why Dana White stated that he was unperturbed by the recent death of his parents. Answering one of Morgan’s questions about the same, White said, “I’m good with it”. Just a few moments later he also said, “When they passed away, I had sort of no feelings about it.”
Well, June White’s words and the available reports about Dana’s childhood never mention any negative point in the relationship he had with his parents. Hence, a large chunk of fans might say that Dana White turning a cold shoulder toward his parents’ death might be due to the accusations his mother made in her book.
Dana White’s relationship with his children
At a point in the interview, White also said that he cares more about his children than his parents. Most fans might know that ‘the UFC head honcho’ is a father of three as well. White’s three children are called Dana White III, Aidan White, and Savannah White.
A number of reports also say that White has taken the lesson from his own childhood and proceeded to become a responsible father to his kids. Despite his packed schedule, White has often paid visits to his son Aidan’s boxing training arenas. On one occasion, he also acted as a cornerman for him in one of his amateur boxing bouts.

Despite the unimaginably busy schedule that White packs, these small acts of care take an enormous stand to prove that he is a responsible father indeed. A large chunk of fans might agree that White actually stands for whatever he said about his kids in the interview with Piers Morgan.
