The crowd was one of the best things about UFC Seattle, and Dana White acknowledged their passion last weekend during the 252nd edition of Fight Night. However, as excited as the crowd was at the Climate Pledge Arena, the headlining fight ended in an anti-climax, leaving an otherwise fantastic card with a rather disappointing ending. What happened? Well, Henry Cejudo got double-poked in the eye by Song Yadong in round 4, the judges awarded the win to ‘The Kung Fu Kid’ based on the scores of the three rounds they fought. Even though the bout is over, both fighters are going after each other.

Neither Song Yadong, who earned a technical decision win, nor Henry Cejudo, who lost the fight because of a foul he didn’t commit, are happy with the way their fight ended. In a recent tweet, ‘Triple C’ advised the Chinese native to do better and be more in control to avoid poking fighters in the eyes. Cejudo made it clear that a rematch was in order, and hence, he laid down the classic ‘sing the contract’ line, but in his own way. “[Song Yadong] you told me you wanted a rematch. Your face at the end says it all. You know you didn’t defeat me. Learn how to close your fists and sign the damn contract,” Henry Cejudo wrote on X.

Well, Song Yadong‘s stance has been the same ever since he won the controversial fight last weekend. He wants to make things right as well and is open for the rematch. But before that, ‘The Kung Fu Kid’ claimed that his initial encounter against Henry Cejudo ended before he planned to execute his real plan in the main event. “Bro, of course, I’m more than happy to have a rematch with you. The first three rounds were just my warm-up. My plan was to turn it up in the fourth round and KO you—you know that. Tell the UFC to set it up, I’m ready to sign the contract anytime,” Song Yadong stated in response.

Both agreed that it was a mistake from Yadong’s end. However, when it comes to the injury sustained by Cejudo, the former double champion revealed it to be a condition called Diplopia, otherwise known as double vision. So, maybe the former champion isn’t wrong in advising Song Yadong. And it’s great that both fighters are willing to run it back.

While Henry Cejudo and Song Yadong might be in the same boat on this one, there’s just one problem. Why? Two words. Dana White. What did he say about a rematch between Cejudo and Yadong? Let’s see what the UFC CEO had to say at the UFC Seattle post-fight press conference.

What’s your perspective on:

Did Henry Cejudo get robbed, or was Song Yadong's win fair after the eye-poke incident?

Dana White has no interest in a Henry Cejudo vs Song Yadong rematch

The UFC Seattle main event delivered until it didn’t. All four rounds until the eye poke were action-packed with both fighters having pivotal moments. Although Song Yadong looked like he was in the winning position, Henry Cejudo, at 38 years old, proved why he’s one of the most elite fighters ever. So, maybe a rematch could be the right way to go just like the rematch that took place between Magomed Ankalaev and Johnny Walker when their UFC 294 fight ended abruptly with an illegal knee in the first round.

And what about Belal Muhammad vs. Leon Edwards 1? Remember the second-round eye poke? Although the rematch wasn’t immediate, it did eventually come.

However, Dana White seems to have no interest in putting up Cejudo vs Yadong 2. When he addressed the media during the post-fight presser, his expression while talking about the rematch said it all. “Not at all. Not even a little bit. I just don’t want to see it again,” the 55-year-old said when asked to run the bantamweight fight back one more time.

But the community is split with the outcome of the UFC Seattle main event. On one hand, you have folks who think that ‘Triple C’ was treated unfairly. On the other hand, you have the justification that since the poke happened in the fourth round, with three rounds in the books—that was enough to award Yadong the win.

Whatever the future outcome of this match (or rematch) will be, Cejudo is determined to get that done. Do you think Henry Cejudo should have lost that fight, despite being down on the scorecards? Should eye-poke wins be awarded past the third round? Let us know in the comments down below.
