Dana White wants UFC 300 to be the organization’s biggest and baddest PPV. For a long time, the UFC CEO has been passionately talking about making this event full of exciting and unexpected fights. But even after announcing a few bouts, he looks far from this dream.

According to his self-proclaimed New Year update, Conor McGregor is not going to fight at UFC 300. Moreover, there have been tons of recent speculations about the biggest UFC names like Nate Diaz, Israel Adesanya, and Jorge Masvidal stepping into the event, to make it the biggest ever. However, a popular MMA journalist has crushed those speculations!

Ariel Helwani doesn’t think Diaz, Adesanya, and Masvidal will fight at UFC 300

Ariel Helwani made some bold claims in the recent episode of the MMA Hour Show. Talking about the grand UFC event in April, he claimed that no big fights are happening at UFC 300. “I don’t see a big fight out there.”

He went ahead to squash the rumors of former UFC champ Israel Adesanya returning at UFC 300. “I asked around about Izzy, I don’t think he’ll be on there. There’s some talk about Izzy vs Pereira, I don’t think that’s going to happen.”

Moreover, he also doesn’t think UFC’s first BMF champ Jorge Masvidal will return at UFC 300. Even after posting a cryptic tweet, the possibility of his return in April is low, according to Helwani. “Masvidal is not on that card, he’s not referring to 300.”

Last but not least, Helwani also put out the fire of Nate Diaz’s return rumors. He even claimed that the Stockton native might never return to the UFC- “Diaz isn’t on that card. His future plans don’t include the UFC and in particular 300.”

Leon Edwards vs. Belal Muhammad headlining UFC 300?

It seems like the UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards will headline the UFC 300 event, if Helwani is to be believed. “Leon was at the Aston Villa game with his coach. He said I’m going to defend my title at 300,” he said.

Further, the MMA reporter revealed that Belal Muhammad might most likely be the challenger. Regardless, he also mentioned that the UFC was also considering the undefeated Shavkat Rakhmonov to challenge for the title.
