UFC 282 has a new main event after a terrible turn of events took place. The T-Mobile Arena event’s fight card saw a major reshuffle after the event headliner Jiri Prochazka suffered a terrible shoulder injury before his Dec 10 fight. The fans could gauge the extent of the injury with the comments by UFC president Dana White and further the fact that the Czech fighter relinquished his title. Similarly, Brendan Schaub recently on his podcast expressed concerns regarding the same ‘terrible’ injury.

The podcast host in the latest segment of his popular podcast, The Schaub Show, broke down the recent ONE championship and PFL events. Further, the former UFC fighter also discussed the upcoming UFC PPV, UFC 282.
Talking in the same section, he referred to UFC lynchpin Dana White’s comments about the former lightweight champion.
What did Brendan Schaub say about Dana White’s comments?
The MMA fighter-turned-standup comic started the conversation by pointing out the alarming aspect of the comments. In addition, he recalled the UFC head honcho Dana White’s remarks, where White earlier declared Prochazka’s injured as the ‘worst shoulder’ he had seen.
Subsequently, the standup comic stated, “Here’s what’s alarming… When they didn’t just postpone it, you know. And make the other fight the main event, when they do an interim belt and when he has to vacate the belt. That means it’s a terrible injury.”
“Not good dude. Not good at all. Such a shame,” Schaub later on added.
Notably, after ‘Denisa’ vacated his title, his challenger, Glover Teixeira, refused to fight the replacement Magomed Ankalaev. Citing the short notice and complex nature of the new fight, the Brazilian fighter dropped from the headliner.
Subsequently, the originally slated co-main event fight between former champion Jan Błachowicz and Ankalaev received an upgrade in status to the main event.
However, it remained to see how the new main event would affect the PPV numbers, the same question which intrigued the podcast host as well.
