The press conference for UFC 306 was nothing short of a dramatic promo for the event. The stage was set right outside the Sphere and all the fighters were present on the stage. The excitement for the fights was palpable indeed. But the star attraction was the rivalry and heat between the fighters.

Needless to say, the press conference was filled with the contenders talking trash about their opponents. The translators even had to tune down the PG rating as the Mexican stars trashed their opponents. This led to some of the fight fans wondering if such talks were allowed in the UFC. And yes, the talk of the town is indeed the verbal thrashing that Ronaldo Rodriguez sent forth in Ode Osbourne’s way. Had Dana White known what exactly the Mexican said, he would have immediately fired him from the promotion.

An account named ‘THE MMA GURU’ on X tweeted, “I’m being told that Ronaldo Rodriguez said some absolutely WILD things at the UFC 306 Press Conference to Ode Osbourne including MULTIPLE CRAZY SLURS that would get him CUT from the UFC if Dana understood him, can anyone confirm?”

Fans speculate what Dana White would have done if he knew about Ronaldo Rodriguez’s NSFW slurs

The MMA Guru’s thoughts were greatly reciprocated in the comments section. No wonder the UFC head honcho doesn’t like his fighters sending off strong words during trash talks. But would White really have fired people for doing so? One of the fans wrote, “100% true if he said them in English, he would be kicked out of the UFC on the spot.” Meanwhile, another fan commented, “If you only knew how bad things really were.”

Some of the fans who understood what the ‘Lazy Boy’ said confirmed that what he said wasn’t pleasing at all. However, that wasn’t a valid enough reason for White to remove him from the UFC. A fan wrote, “Nothing too crazy called him a f***ot, said “I’m gonna beat the fucking shit out of you” and then told him “the only thing you’re gonna do is suck my d**k”” Another fan added, “I wish y’all would understand what he was saying bro had me crying. he was spitting facts tho.”

On top of that, a few others claimed that it was pretty natural for the fighters to throw verbal bombs on their opponents to build up the hype for their fights. This was indeed one of the factors that ensured the sale of tickets. And it was definitely not a reason that would get the fighters canceled. One fan commented, “He’s not getting cut anytime bro, he’s Mexicos rising star. He’s fan favorite because of stuff like he did just now. Some people are so soft.” Another comment read, “This is the ultimate fighting championship not the ultimate feelings championship… you’re not going to get cut for a slur.” One of the fans claimed that the exchange was funny and defended Rodrguez. The comment read, “He didn’t say anything too wild, he was funny ash though  he said nothing that would get him canceled or cut or whatever.”

It was nothing but a normal trash talk. After all, selling a fight was of the utmost importance at the event. What are your thoughts on Rodrguez’s words for Osbourne? Do you think he went a bit too far in the heat of the moment? Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
