Dana White’s recent attempt at promoting a PBR (Professional Bull Riders) event has caused the fans to slam the UFC CEO! White got involved in the bull business due to his first-hand experiences with the sport while shooting an episode of his reality show, ‘Lookin For a Fight’ back in 2015-16. While he claimed that riding a bull was “…the dumbest thing I’ve ever done”, a visit to the ‘Dennis Davis Bucking Bulls ranch intrigued him enough that he bought a bull himself.

The UFC boss purchased 3 bulls over the years, however, none of them have been as popular or successful as ‘Twisted Steel’, his most recent acquisition. UFC veteran, Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone, had also put forth a challenge to White as he wanted to take on the task of riding ‘Twisted Steel’ himself. Unfortunately, ‘Cowboy’ suffered a serious injury while practicing that required surgery, and as such, the challenge had to be abandoned.

However, in a recent update on social media, the UFC head honcho shared a video of himself promoting ‘Twisted Steel’s upcoming appearance at a PBR event. He stated, “My boy Twisted Steel is bucking tomorrow at the PBR World Finals on CBS Sports Network at 9 PM, Eastern. Twisted Steel has bucked off 36 out of 41 riders, that’s an 88% buck off rate. He’s going to be facing Cort McFadden, one of PBRs biggest rising stars.”

White also revealed that there’s a “bounty” in place as the rider is set to win $50,000 dollars if he manages to hang on for 8 seconds, and if he fails, $100,000 dollars will be donated to Cerrone’s charity from the PBR and Dana White. However, the fans weren’t exactly pleased by the UFC boss’s decision to promote the event as they took to the comments section to make their thoughts known on the video. Let’s take a look at what the netizens had to say!

Dana White’s attempt at promoting ‘Twisted Steel’ gets shot down by the fans

Fans claimed that Dana White isn’t particularly picky about what ‘sport’ he promotes as bull riding is something no one would have expected the UFC boss to be involved in.

I swear bro is promoting anything

Other fans were confused as they thought the video would be a fight announcement for the UFC 305 event, set to take place in Perth, Australia on August 18

Thought this was 305 announcement

Some fans took humorous jabs at the UFC’s issues with fighter pay and claimed that ‘Twisted Steel’ might be on a rookie contract

Lowest paid bull I assume (jk)

But others were happier with White’s decision to promote PBR instead of the controversial ‘Power Slap’ league

This. This is better than two grown Uncle Ricos slapping each other.

However, some just outright stated their disinterest in the promotion.

Nobody gives a f*ck

Some fans questioned the logic behind White promoting a sporting event that would clash with a UFC broadcast

He’s really promoting some shit that’s gonna be on during ufc lmao

One fan bluntly demanded the UFC boss to announce “big fights” as they are not interested in the world of bull riding.

Announce some big fights lil bro we don’t need this shit

Another clever joke was made by a fan by replacing the word ‘buck’ with another four-letter word to implore Dana White to stop promoting the entire affair

To wrap things up, fans expressed confusion, disappointment, and disinterest, with many criticizing White for diverting attention from UFC-related announcements and ongoing issues, such as fighter pay. Some fans found humor in the situation, while others outright rejected the promotion, emphasizing their preference for UFC content.

This incident highlights the complex relationship between Dana White and the UFC fanbase, illustrating that diversions into other sports may not always resonate well with his primary audience.
