Jon Jones has again reignited excitement in the MMA community but this time it’s not about his fight news or anything related to his MMA career. Rather it’s all about his acting debut in Hollywood. After making his mark in the Netflix French special La Cage, which was heavily centered around the world of MMA, the heavyweight champion is now gearing up to portray a Navy SEAL in Edo Crossing — a story about a Navy SEAL and his canine. As the MMA community is curious about ‘Bones’s career change, the UFC heavyweight champion has come forward to confess something new.
While having a conversation in an interview with Alex Gonzalez, Jon Jones came forward to state that his MMA career is coming to an end now and he is looking to make a career change as soon as possible. “Within the next five years, I wanna win one more fight, maybe even two more fights and try and make as much money as possible in the UFC. And I want to launch my acting career. I’ve always wanted to be an actor. I think I do pretty good on camera and I’ve done little commercials and things like that,” said Jones.
He further added, “Every time I’m on set, everybody’s like, ‘Bro, it’s hard to believe that you’re a fighter. You conduct yourself just like all of our professional actors.’ So that’s my five-year plan. And 10 years from now I just want to be the best dad I can be, man.”

Jon Jones has been with the promotion for over a decade and has yet to concede defeat (excluding his DQ). The MMA community, including Dana White, considers Jones the GOAT of MMA. However, he might need to defeat Tom Aspinall to cement his status as the greatest of all time and shut his doubters up for good.

Dana White asserted that Tom Aspinall would get the opportunity to clash with Jon Jones if the heavyweight champion doesn’t retire after his fight against Stipe Miocic. During the UFC 309 Octagon interview, Jones expressed his desire to continue fighting, which created a new challenge for the UFC CEO—negotiating a fight between Jones and Aspinall.
White promised a fight to the Britisher and that’s what he planning to do but what about Jon Jones? Well, the heavyweight champion emphasized that he would take the fight if the monetary compensation were enough but even a hefty $30 million appears to be grim for the heavyweight champion as his five-year plan doesn’t include Tom Aspinall.

Jones called if ‘f— you’ money, the amount he would need to fight someone like Aspinall. $30M was what he asked for Francis Ngannou a few years ago. This would be on par with the kind of paychecks that Tyson Fury and other big-name boxers make. Besides, his colleague Conor McGregor set the record for the highest-paid Hollywood debutant earlier this year with ‘Road House.’ Jones having these options makes it more challenging for White to bring this fight together. We don’t know if Jones vs. Aspinall is a lock but what we do know is the fact that White’s constant support for Jones has forced him to work harder.
Jon Jones revealed the sole consequence of Dana White’s defense of him
Jon Jones is the greatest fighter on the face of the earth: this is what UFC CEO Dana White has been saying for years now and he has been trolled for this as well. However, how does Jon Jones feel about it? While having a conversation with Alex G’s YouTube show, Jon Jones emphasized that as much as he likes the administration, it puts immense pressure on him to perform.

“It’s added pressure to perform at a very high level. You know, there’s so many memes of Dana [White], ‘Jon Jones is the best fighter ever’… To have your boss praise you the way that Dana does, man, I’m so honored. I feel like no matter what job you do, to have somebody who’s above you look at you in such a high regard, it’s flattering,” said Jon Jones.
When you are one of the most dominant fighters in the history of the promotion then it’s just palpable that everyone would love to watch you dominate. And when you are Jon Jones, losing a fight makes bigger headlines than dominantly winning one. Do you agree? State your thoughts in the comments below.
