Dana White Shares He Feels ‘Awesome’ When People Like Zuckerberg Come Forward and Get Involved in the UFC

The much-awaited UFC 298 event is finally over, and the fans witnessed some of the best fighters go up against each other. Some big names from various fields were present in the arena to support their favorite fighters. One of the big names to make an appearance at the event was Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who even walked out with Alexander Volkanovski during his fight.

After the event, the UFC CEO, during the press conference, answered some questions regarding the event. Dana White praised Zuckerberg for his presence in the Octagon. Let us find out what the 56-year-old had to say.

Dana White explains how the sport of MMA gets you attracted really quick

It was the year 2023 and Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk showed their interest in a MMA fight. The news sent shock waves around the MMA world and fans eagerly awaited the potential fight. UFC CEO Dana White also showed his wish to promote the fight. However, the fight did not materialize for a variety of reasons, but Zuckerberg is still involved with the sport. White, in his press conference, shared his feelings about the Meta CEO being involved with the UFC.

The 54-year-old said: ” Everybody in this room knows this or most of the people in this room, anyway. When you get into this sport, it’s f..ng fascinating the way this pulls you in. When you think about the people, that. Khabib didn’t even make it to the locker room and Putin was on the phone. Valentina Shevchenko meets with the president of her country every time she goes back there. The Royal family in Abu Dhabi, the list goes on and on of the people that these powerful, uh, extremely wealthy people that just fall in love with the sport. When you get close to these things, it just sort of sucks you in and just fall in love with it. When I see people like that, like Zuckerberg, love this thing as much as they do, it’s just fun, it’s awesome.”

While the UFC CEO shared, that he felt awesome with guys like Zuckerberg coming out with the fighters during the PPV event. He also cleared the air regarding questions related to the Meta CEO walking out with Alexander Volkanovski during his title fight.

White shares the reason for Mark Zuckerberg’s walkout with Volk

The Meta CEO has been friends with Alexander Volkanovski for quite some time now. Such is his friendship that he walked out with the former featherweight champion for his title defense. The UFC Head Honcho during his press conference mentioned how ‘ Volk’ had asked him about it and it was ” The Great’s” idea. White also mentioned how people ask about it frequently to witness something incredible in their lifetime.

The 54-year-old said: “When you have the opportunity to come to one of these fights and sit in the crowd… then to stand where I stand for a face-off when you got these big fights, it’s without a doubt one of the most unique and incredible things to do in your lifetime if you’re a huge fan.”  It will be interesting to see whether the UFC can line up the much-awaited fight between two- tech billionaires sometime in the future.
