UFC head honcho Dana White recently faced backlash from fans after reports surfaced that Jack Della Maddalena, who’s slated to challenge Belal Muhammad for the welterweight title at UFC 315, was planning a fundraiser. The reason? Initial reports claimed the Australian ace was trying to raise money to fly his entire team to Montreal for the highly anticipated bout. However, it turns out the whole situation was merely a case of miscommunication.
Given that UFC 315 is less than six weeks away, ‘Bully B’ decided to have some fun with Maddalena after the reports about a potential fundraiser made headlines. As fans took digs at White, the welterweight champion jibed at the Australian star, claiming that he was willing to donate some money for his team to travel via Spirit Airlines, which is an ultra-low-cost carrier. But now, Muhammad may have to eat his words.
According to a report by famed journalist Damon Martin, Jack Della Maddalena, who’s reported to be holding the said fundraiser at The Rivo Bar & Grill in Perth on April 14, is actually going to be a paid promotion. The venue apparently misinterpreted the whole ordeal and made the announcement, which was something that Maddalena hadn’t consented to.

Jack Della Maddalena was not raising funds to get his team to #UFC315 in Montreal.
Jack was making a paid appearance and there was a miscommunication with the venue, who actually made that post and it was “absolutely outside of Jack’s permission or knowledge.”
Just to clear…

The Instagram post where the restaurant made the announcement has now been deleted, which was captioned: “Come have a beer with Jack Della Maddalena.” While the Australian star hasn’t addressed the recent miscommunication issue publicly, he does have a message for Belal Muhammad before the latter took the aforementioned jibe at the title challenger. Here’s what he had to say!

Jack Della Maddalena plans to finish Belal Muhammad at UFC 315
If we take a look at Belal Muhammad’s record, he may not have earned too many finishes, but it’s tough to finish him as well. Only one opponent has been able to put ‘Remember the Name’s lights out, Vicente Luque, and that too was almost nine years ago. However, Jack Della Maddalena is planning to be the first one in a long time to do what no one has been able to do since UFC 205, and that’s finish the fight in just the first round, just like Luque when he fought Muhammad.
“Eyes on the price, stoked the UFC have put their trust in me to save the division. This will be done in 1 no doubt,” Jack Della Maddalena wrote in a post on Instagram. The 28-year-old may not have been the one on fans’ minds to be the next welterweight title contender, but his record suggests that he’s not entirely undeserving of a title, given that he’s undefeated in the UFC.
