Who is the greatest martial arts fighter of all time? Whenever the question is asked, one of the top names that comes to mind is Jon Jones – the current UFC Heavyweight champ. For years, Jones dominated the UFC Light Heavyweight division and walked out without a single loss to his name (except for the DQ against Matt Hamill.

Despite his illustrious career within the ring, Jones had some trouble outside. When he walked away from the UFC and came back to fight Ciryl Gane at Heavyweight, people didn’t expect to see the same dominant performance from Jones. Though he proved to everyone that he was unbeatable, irrespective of weight class. UFC President Dana White was recently asked questions about recent rumors surrounding Jones and even dropped the name of the fighter that Jones hated the most.

Jon Jones has won the UFC Heavyweight title by defeating Ciryl Gane. The fight, although impressive for Jones, was quite short. Now, he has a really imposing challenge ahead of him as he gears up to fight Heavyweight legend Stipe Miocic for his first title defense. The two will lock horns at UFC 295, which will be held on 12 November.

Ahead of this, Dana White dropped some major news about Jones and his relationship with UFC commentator and former fighter, Daniel Cormier. During this press conference, White said, “The only person I’ve ever seen Jon Jones truly hate, and – and could not stand and would say bad things about was Daniel Cormier. Other than him, I – I’ve never seen that with Jon Jones.”.

The rivalry between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier needs no introduction. It is probably one of the most memorable and legendary rivalries in the history of the promotion. The two fighters fought twice and Jones won both fights, shattering Cormier’s dreams of a payback. However, it seems that the two have met each other halfway and have settled their beef to an extent.

Dana White, who really values his current HW champ, doubled down on his last statement and concluded by saying, “Maybe I’m wrong, but I’ve never seen it.”, leaving the room for a discussion about the rumors being slightly true.

Jon Jones – Colby Covington – Fight card rumors cleared up

UFC 295 has all the makings of a great Heavyweight battle. However, it seems Welterweight fighter Colby Covington has said that Jones has reached out to the UFC brass to personally request Covington to be taken off the same fight card as him. Though, there has been no confirmation of the same.

In a recent interview, Dana White was asked if he the rumors were true. “Not that I know of. Is that what Jon said?“, White asked. The interviewer confirmed and White replied, saying, “It’s probably true then.“. The UFC President then started laughing. “Yeah, if Jon said it, it’s probably true, um… but not that I’m aware of, that he didn’t want… what – what’s his problem with Colby Covington?“, he further asked, curious about what has transpired between the two.

The interviewer suggested that it could be about Covington and Jones having history and before he could finish his sentence, White cut him off, by asking, “Colby was talking s**t about him like he does everybody on earth?“. Then, someone from the crowd pointed out that Jones never said that, and that Covington alleged that Jones made that comment. To this Dana White reacted by saying, “Oh God! So John didn’t say it – Colby said John said it.“.

Now, whether it’s Covington trying to rile up his old roommate or not is a question that needs answering. As of now, the co-main event lineup hasn’t been finalized for UFC 295. Will they feature on the same fight card? Or will Jones ‘supposedly’ have his way?
