Can Mike Tyson's legacy withstand a fight against Jake Paul, or is it a risky gamble?

UFC President Dana White is always looking for ways to elevate the promotion, even though it’s already a billion-dollar business. Under his leadership, the promotion has reached unprecedented heights, and he’s even ventured into new spaces like Power Slap. But now, it seems he may have something new on the horizon—this time in the world of boxing.

In an interview with TNT Sports, the head honcho hinted at upcoming plans involving boxing. While discussing his vision for the UFC, he also touched on his growing interest in this arena. White highlighted his strong ties with Saudi Arabia and the Turki Alalshikh-led General Entertainment Authority, partnerships that have played a significant role in boosting sports in the country. During the interview, White also mentioned an exciting project involving boxing, ahead of the showdown between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul.

The boss said, “It’s not that I am changing my mind it’s that um; I am looking at a different opportunity the Saudis have you know Sheikh Turki specifically has completely reinvigorated boxing making fights that could not be made before that would have never been made had it not been for him so. He and I have created a relationship and it’s made me more interested than I was before.” These comments are probably targeted at the state of matchmaking in boxing where a tussle between the four major sanctioning bodies leads to a delay in the best fighters scrapping it out in the boxing ring.

In addition, White hinted that the UFC’s business model might work well in the boxing industry, although he left fans with a cliffhanger, saying they’d have to “sit tight to find out.” Despite Dana White’s desire to rejuvenate the struggling boxing world, TKO Group Holdings isn’t rushing to make any investments.

Speaking to Vegas PBS, he emphasized how crucial it is to invest in a sport to ensure its success—a principle he followed with the UFC. “When you invest like this [in the UFC], the sport continues to grow, and everything grows with it. Boxing has done the exact opposite,” he noted, adding, “Turki is looking to invest in boxing. So… anything is possible.”

Meanwhile, fans are gearing up for an iconic showdown between a boxing legend and a YouTuber-turned-boxer—a fight that has been building for a long time and is finally set to happen this month.
