The move came after White was a guest on ‘This Past Weekend’ podcast episode no. 470. The host of the podcast, comedian Theo Von, disclosed to White that Peloton had requested him to remove a podcast episode. The company had been a sponsor of the podcast. However, the friction between the two started due to the appearance of Robert Kennedy Jr. on the show.
Dana White strongly criticized Peloton and its CEO Barry McCarthy, expressing outrage over the company’s objections to the interview with Kennedy. White, unsatisfied with Peloton’s actions, instructed the removal of all Peloton bikes from UFC gyms as soon as possible.
Dana White confirmed the removal of Peloton bikes from UFC gyms, stating that only Echelon bikes are now present. He revealed the news on his Instagram story shared with the fans.
He stated, “So people have been hitting me up and asking me if I really got rid of the Pelotons. Only Echelon bikes would be here, Pelotons are gone. There are Echelon, here we go, Theo, we got the Echelon bikes in now, Craig is happy again…. Who needs Peloton?”
He expressed contentment with the change and questioned the necessity of Peloton, emphasizing the adoption of Echelon bikes. The move underscores White’s commitment to his promises. But the recent Bellator and PFL merger may cause White more trouble than getting rid of exercise bikes. The PFL co-founder has come out and stated that White will be wary of the new competition in town!
PFL co-founder believes White is ‘worried’
Donn Davis, in an interview with Ariel Helwani, hinted at Dana White’s concerns regarding the PFL and Bellator merger. Davis suggested that White’s recent comments on PFL indicated worry, emphasizing White’s tendency to dismiss things that bother him.
He stated, “He didn’t comment on the PFL for four years, ‘cause he wasn’t worried. He’s commented on the PFL a lot the last six months – [he’s] worried.”
