“Any fight, a marbles game. I’m in.” This is what Patricio Pitbull had declared back in 2022 about fighting against Jose Aldo, as per Bloody Elbow. ‘Pitbull’ declared that he had honed his striking skills for many years, and a match against Aldo would be interesting. Patricio Pitbull always believed that he would beat Aldo if UFC and Bellator had ever reached a deal to have a crossover fight in their featherweight category. The former two-division Bellator champ will make his UFC debut on April 12th, 2025, at UFC 314.
So this might spell good news for the featherweight star since he is coming to the UFC, where Aldo has been fighting since 2011. However, he had almost given up on his dream when Aldo retired in 2022. Pitbull said on the Trocação Franca podcast that he considered Aldo’s retirement a judgment made by others and that he would ultimately return. He was right as the 32-9-0 “King of Rio” returned to fight Jonathan Martinez at UFC 301 in May 2024.
Now Aldo is preparing to fight Aiemann Zahabi for UFC 315, and Pitbull is training to fight Yair Rodríguez for UFC 314. Since both are in the UFC right now, Mike Owens from Inside Fighting could not help but ask the obvious question: “You’re in the UFC, there are so many interesting fights, is there one particular name that you would like to fight now that you’re in the UFC?”

Pitbull said, “Aldo is incredible, he is a legend, and for many years people were comparing us, and they wanted us to fight. If it’s offered to me, I will take it. I wouldn’t say no to it, but it’s not the fight I’m focusing on right now. I am interested in the guys that have the belt right now.”

Pitbull is not just thinking about his own future fights but also helping out his comrades for their fights as well! He recently revealed that he helped Paddy Pimblett by giving him tips on how to beat Michael Chandler.
Patricio Pitbull helped Paddy Pimblett by spilling a secret on Michael Chandler
The Brazilian star has a past with Michael Chandler where he delivered an intense KO loss to the latter at Bellator 221. He had taken ‘Iron’s’ belt and avenged his brother Patricky Pitbull, who was rendered unconscious when the duo fought for the vacant lightweight title in Bellator. Mark Owens of Inside Fighting asked the Brazilian star about helping Pimblett. Owens asked, “Is it true that you gave Paddy Pimblett tips on how to beat Michael Chandler in this fight?” Pitbull said, “It’s true,” with the help of a translator. However, he did not disclose the tip, saying, “That’s a secret; it’s getting in the way of strategy.”

Pimblett is confident that he can beat Chandler and made a bold prediction, stating that he will finish Chandler by Round 2. “When I got asked to do a five-round fight, they were not sure if I would say yes,” Pimblett told TNT Sports. “But, yeah, obviously, as he is getting finished in two, it does not matter how many it’s scheduled for. Everyone can expect a finish come April 12.”
