Dana White doesn’t cross-promote, but Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority’s chairman and billionaire HE Turki Alalshikh seems to be interested in pairing Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones up for arguably the biggest MMA heavyweight fight ever. However, the UFC CEO seems adamant about his stance on this situation and has hammered the final nail in the coffin when it comes to this fight.

When Francis Ngannou was in the UFC, there were initial plans for him to fight Jon Jones in the latter’s heavyweight debut. But as we all know, everything fell apart between Dana White and ‘The Predator’ due to failed contract negotiations, and the CEO has been very public about his disdain towards the former UFC champion. However, HE Turki Alalshikh believes he can make this fight a reality by trying to get the 55-year-old on the bandwagon.

“In MMA, you know, all the time my answer is all the time we want to do the biggest [fights]. [Yes, it’s Jon Jones], we need to send Dana White to the moon,” HE Turki Alalshikh told renowned combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani. But guess what? It has failed to make any change in White’s opinion, and he doubled down on the fact that it’s Tom Aspinall who’s getting ‘Jonny Bones’.

“[Rumors about Ngannou vs Jones] Absolutely NOT true. [It’s going to be] Jon vs Tom,” an unimpressed Dana White commented in a post on Instagram. Seeing how eager the fans were to see it, even the PFL brass extended a hand to Dana White for the biggest heavyweight match in MMA, but Dana White wasn’t going to do the Jon Jones vs Francis Ngannou fight.

Not only that, Dana White even ripped into the PFL and even sent a warning to founder Donn Davis. That warning included direct demand to “keep UFC’s name out of their mouth.” Let’s see what the UFC boss had to say.

Dana White usually does what Dana White wants, and that’s exactly the message he sent to Donn Davis. Furthermore, he even poked fun at PFL’s viewership and PPV numbers, claiming that his secondary promotion, Power Slap, does more numbers than Francis Ngannou’s current promotion. “They can’t even deal with Power Slap. Power Slap destroys PFL,” White stated during a Power Slap presser in October. The 55-year-old even had a small piece of paper where he claimed to have had the details of all the numbers of his slap-fighting league and the PFL.

“First of all, let’s talk about followers. Power Slap has 19.2 million followers; PFL has 10 [million]. Video views, PFL fight week did 326 million, [but] Power Slap 8 did 690 million,” Dana White added. “[Donn Davis] talks a lot but says nothing, and I’d hate to be one of that guy’s investors.” So it’s a done deal for now that if you’re not in the UFC, you’re not getting what people want you to get.

Well, it might be bad news for Francis Ngannou fans, but a sigh of relief for Tom Aspinall fans. It seems like the Briton is well on his way to getting that title unification bout as we wait to see how HE Turki Alalshikh reacts to Dana White’s response in the days to come.
